Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Just checking in before I run off to Kindergarten for my weekly stint. I am down by a pound or two. Hard to tell, as my scale is very lame, but it is absolutely in the right direction so I am happy. It is reading 192ish, so that means I am under 200. WooHoo! Now for my second goal: in the 180's by the ladies trip. I can do that! It is only 11 pounds!

Made my 15 minute walk for sure and also did weights. I can really feel my body firming up and that is a good feeling.

I will be back later~

TGIF ladies!!! :cool1: And Happy Weigh In Day. Or at least I hope it's happy. Congrats to those who lost or maintained. Everyone else, keep at it! Do not give up.

Pick a date, whether it's the ladies trip or something else, and think of where you'd like to be by that time and focus on that. Don't worry about beyond that. I know for me when I think to far ahead it seems overwhelming. Baby steps is what I need.

OK, so on Tuesday when I hopped on the scale I was still at 226. Today I am down 7 pounds to 219. YAY!! Back in the teens!! Whew! Now I need to never leave them again. At least not by going up. LOL

I said I wanted to be under 200 by the trip, and I do, but I'd also be really pleased just to be out of the teens and into the 2-0-somethings. (like 208 or 205)

Have a good day everyone. Oh, and I walked this morning trainer!

Well--here's what happened to me today. Drank coffee, forgot to eat breakfast (had a handful of mixed nuts) did the treadmill watching the view, (40 minutes actual time on between stretching and I don't know what) ate breakfast around noon, Cascade farms cereal and a banana, Miltons english muffin with apple butter, orange juice. That's all ok, went to Costco had some samples, got to work and ate a few shrimp with scampi, (I made samples) got home and ate another handful or 2 of mixed nuts, some dried mangos and a glass of wine, then the stupid popcorn tin was just sitting there so had oh-- I guess about a small bowl of that--not planned at all. I love that cheese popcorn though shoot. I refuse to just toss the stuff, too frugal for that. Oh well, I did my dumb back exercises though after that.

Sounds like you had a great day - other than the cheese popcorn. Good job :thumbsup2

Morning all. Well just like I thought I didn't eat as well as I should and it showed on the scale. I am back up a pound to 155.4. But that is common and today is not my official weighin so it doesn't matter. And I am still technically down so I am not worried. I am going to do better today though. If I get hungry I will make sure and eat better! Plus the roast we had last night was pretty salty and that can affect your weight a lot. Water weight is tricky.

Congrats on being down for the week!
I think it's hard to make assessments on what happens on a day to day basis with your weight - so many contributing factors. The good news is that you are DOWN and have been eating very well overall, despite all of your challenges. GREAT JOB! :thumbsup2

Good job on the weight loss and exercise. YEAH!!:thumbsup2

First of all, how the HECK can a person lose 7 pounds in three days, save for a horrible bout of the stomach flu. You amaze me! That's incredible, but I'm so glad you did it! Congrats! You did such a GREAT job on getting back on track and walking and I'm so glad the scale was receptive. YEAH!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

As for me, I'm the same. Seems I'm always the same.
Good news is that I'm pretty much the same as before the holidays, so I didn't gain all the weight I feared I had.

Other good news is that I really met my exercise goals this week. I did a 12 mile (2 hour and 15 minute) run on Sunday. It was stupid, as I hadn't run in 8 days and I paid for it - my legs were crying for 2 days. I just felt I needed to meet that mental hurdle for the upcoming 1/2 marathon. Fortunately, I have recovered from my soreness and I also did weights twice this week. So I have gotten off my couch sitting cabin mode and back into training which makes me happy. :goodvibes

Great week ladies!
Capri--I"m thinking you should have some good numbers with the flu and all ;)

Hi Ladies.
This is your virtual trainer

body-building-trainer.jpg

reminding you it is DAY 5 OF OUR COUCH TO 5K BY DL DIVAS MEET

For today, we a rest day. It's almost weekend time and we're about to KICK IT UP A NOTCH
Saturday we have a 1.5 mile walk
Sunday a 30-60 min walk

You can do these walks wherever makes sense for you. Do make yourself a priority and make sure you exercise. If you can get out at least on Sunday to do an outside enjoyable walk, give it a try! If you can't, go ahead and walk around the kitchen. ;)

Again, here's the entire, very doable program:

LOL, I was just eating sooooo much over the holidays (you have no idea, I can out eat anyone!) and so many salty foods that I think once I got back on track and also started back with the water, it helped.
I know it's not "real" weight loss. I could tell I was bloated so that had a lot to do with it.
I'm sure next Fridays numbers will be more realistic and on track with real weight loss.

What is amazing however is doing a 12 mile run!!!!!!!!! Honestly, that is impressive. :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

As for you being the same, I saw your pic on the trip thread and I didn't call you a skinny witch for nothing. You have nothing to lose girl!!! LOL You already look awesome.

Hi ladies,

Well, since the last time I weighed myself (mid-December when we returned from our WDW vacation), I've lost 5 pounds. I don't know if I lost that this week with the flu or not, but I wouldn't be surprised since there's no way I lost it during the holidays with all the consumption of goodies.

I now weigh 165. I'm slowly but surely getting there!

Don't worry Jen, I'll be sure to get "off the couch" this weekend and get in my exercise!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the support--I seem to be holding steady this week. I started packing the tin popcorn in son's lunch lol--that'll get rid of it. I still have too many temptations around though home made christmas cookies, those danged nuts, the wine left over from New Years...I think I'll fo better this week. I sure as heck hope so anyway. I'm just ornery and resentful right now-- I'm doing all this physical therapy exercise religiously, going to the therapist twice a week, watching what I eat and doing the treadmill and walks. I get this sort of attitude when dieting. Lol last night I went to get our ice sheets to cover the food in the case--took about 3 minutes to do it and it was after 8 (we close at 9) and a stocker found me coming back with the information I had a customer, got back there and there were 2 people, and they were calling help to the counter for butcher block...after they left, I was venting at said stocker at how I was going to go Eric Cartman on these people-hyperventilating because they couldn't get their shrimp fast enough ( I'm sorry but we do close at some point and late night shoppers are generally a pain in the rear) they had to tell on me too--he laughed and grabbed his phone out of his pocket and played the Cartman expression I was thinking of lol.

You will! :) I hear ya on all those temptations. I was so glad to see them go. It was fun, but time to get serious again. Of course everytime I go to te store all I see now are Valentine's candies! And after that it will be Easter candy. They don't even let us catch our breath in between holidays.

Thankfully we don't do much for Valentine's Day so that's no biggie. I do have to make four Easter baskets which could be tempting, but I don't have to worry about that until April.

Morning all. For those of you who read my other thread you probably know I didn't get much sleep so I am on here for lack of something else to do at 6 a.m. on a Saturday. Lynn is staying at Shane's cousin because we thought it was best and also we knew we would get NO sleep if she stayed here because she would try to run again. But anyway I weighed myself again today and back to 154.8 so that is good. I am sure it is going to fluctuate all over the place. That is the problem with my scale but hopefully it stays around the 154 and goes DOWN from here on out instead of back up!

Yesterday I had my shredded wheat for breakfast and then for lunch at work I had soup and salad bar. Unfortunately the only lo cal option they had was a vinagrette that didn't look very good, really oily, and they had no lo cal ranch so I had to have the regular but I had just a small helping but I had chicken and lots of beans for protein and of course lots of veggies so I think it was pretty good. Then I did have a small bowl of potato soup which I know is carbs but I only ate a few bites. They didn't have their soups OUT and so I had to order it separate and the only soups they DID have were all creme options.

Then mom went and had to order a piece of apple pie but I just had a couple small bites. I wasn't going to get ANY but it came with her meal. Anyway then for dinner with everything that happened shane just ran and got pizza and I only had two small slices of cheese and then didn't even eat all of that.

I am sure all this stress is probably going to make me drop a few more but that is not the right way to do it. But anyway that is where I am at at least.

Today they are bringing her back over and I don't know WHAT's going to happen but we have to take our dog to the vet to get his shots no matter what and we HAVE to go to sam's club cuz we are completely out of groceries. NOT good timing but it has to happen. UGH.

Hope you guys are doing well! I am sure you are. See you later!

I hope you can have some time to yourself to relax and manage this stessful situation. I wish your family peace, love and patience during this incredibly stressful period. Take care of yourself as there is so much expected of you. And if the dog doesn't get his shots and the groceries are a day late, it will probably be ok. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way.

Thanks so much bigsky (I feel so stupid calling you that I wish I knew your real name LOL). It just sucks cuz I have to take other meds for my headaches and my bladder which of course constipate you which then cause these OTHER issues. LOL.

And as you probably know once you START getting these then you are much more susceptible to them. I also have fissures which are OH so lovely. I was having so many issues this summer I had to have a barium enema and let's just say I NEVER want to do THAT again. And being a migraine sufferer having to go without eating for nearly two days is NOT a good thing! By the time I went in for the test I had a WHOPPER so it made it OH so fun! I was absolutely miserable!

But anyway last summer when I got one of these I went to urgent care and I asked to have it lanced but they wouldn't do it because they said they worry about infection and they said that is worse. It would take the pain away but they don't want to have to deal with that. And there is the banding but I guess they don't do that so much either. They basically just told me to do the sitz bathes and gave me a scrip for percocet for the pain (which of courses causes MORE constipation but of course they gave me colace along with) and then I went to my pcm and he gave me a steroid creme which I still have and am using now. I am hoping that I got this one early and that the creme will cut the time down since I caught it early. The last one I had was the size of an olive. And it took over a week to burst. It was absolutely excruciating. And you are right until it bursts or shrinks on its own it is agony. Then to add insult to injury I worked too long on my compuer yesterday and got a lovely migraine last night so that just added to the fun! I got a double whammy! :)

Gotta love it! ;)

But the good news is I am still at 155 today. So at least I am eating good and sticking to my weight! Something is going right LOL.

Hopefully since I know what to do this time I can get this thing fixed sooner and be better by next week so I can FINALLY start working out and REALLY start to lose by next week!

Hey Kelly....I'm Amy. Sorry, I thought I had it in my sig. Hope you are feeling better. When I had mine during pregnancy they did a "clipping" and that took care of it. Hurt like a bi*** for a week after but no problems since then!!
