Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

I am also sort of feeling like I need to give myself a break for a few days and plan for some smart splurging, or I am going to be feeling a bit deprived. So, I am not too sure I will weigh in this week. It would be just too darn depressing for me if I gained everything back. We'll see.

I like that term..."smart splurging." I'm doing the same. :thumbsup2 Although it was be hard to call my splurging yesterday smart. :rolleyes1

Yesterday and today have been the worse eating days ever.

Tomorrow my sister and I are starting up STRICT. No extra carbs other than complex carbs and we will be eating TONS of fruits, veggies, protein and WATER BY THE GALLON. I'll be going to the gym tomorrow after work, no time in the morning seeing as how I have to leave the house at 10:15 - 10:30am and I would prefer not to be tired for my shift (which will most likely be CRAZY busy).

Yesterday is gone and today is a new day. Let's all not be too strict with ourselves in the holidays. Let's be smart, but gentle. 'til the season...:goodvibes

Beth, I am down 7 pounds last week. I am not sure how that happened. I think it is because I am drinking lots of water and not eating everything I see.:thumbsup2 Although it is mostly water weight, I will take it.

7 pounds? WOOHOO!!! ALRIGHT!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
That's awesome! I'd take that for sure! Heck, I'm not even down seven pounds total since we started this board. That's absolutely a wonderful accomplishment...in the middle of holiday season, no less!

So, we had a Christmas party yesterday and I pretty much ate everything I wanted. Plus I am sore. Did yoga yesterday after having skipped several weeks and the instructor was trying to help me build my 'headstand practice." I have no headstand practice. Imagine me on all fours with my head touching the ground, and there's my headstand practice. Anyway, while touching my head on the floor I seem to have tweaked something and am in mild pain today. Aargh. I'm supposed to run 45 minutes. How the heck? We'll see how exercise goes this week.

Both kids are now crawling all over me, so I think it's time to sign off.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

Hi my Disneyland Divas!

How's everyone doing? I hope all is well!

I've been busy, busy, busy! We returned the night of Dec. 16th from a fabulous trip to WDW.

My parents were supposed to fly to Spokane on Wednesday, Dec. 17th to spend Christmas and New Years with the family, but they never made it.....snow storms and flight cancellations. They never even made it out of Las Vegas on Wednesday, so they had to stay at a hotel for the night. The next morning, my 81 year old dad fell in the tub/shower at the hotel. Poor guy, he's lucky he didn't break his neck. He is VERY sore though (mom is taking him to the doctor today). By Thursday night they did make it to Salt Lake City, but the Spokane airport was completely shut down so they couldn't fly in that day. They had to stay at a hotel this night too. On Friday morning, Spokane was accepting a few flights in, but not many.....and another storm was forecast to barrel down on the Salt Lake City area that afternoon, so they decided to cut their losses and get out of there while they could. They instead caught a flight back to Las Vegas (where they had left their car), and then drove back to their winter condo in Lake Havasu City.

It was a lot of money to spend (on flights, hotel rooms, and food) to get nowhere.:sad2:

A sent them a nice Christmas flower arrangement to be delivered tomorrow to help cheer them up. (I know they're very sad that they won't get to see the grandkids or spend Christmas with the family.)

I haven't lost any more weight in the last few weeks. You know.....vacation, DDP, the holidays and all.;)

But I have been watching what I eat and how much, so I haven't gained any weight back either.:cool1:

I'm planning to get back on the "losing weight" wagon right after Christmas. Lord knows there's enough snow to shovel that I could probably lose a TON of weight. Please, please, please, someone turn off the snow machine here! I can hardly see my hubby's truck anymore. It now looks like one big block of snow! I truly think 40 inches of snow is ENOUGH!:scared1: :scared:

Apparently Mother Nature doesn't agree with me. Boooooo!:headache:

Capri! Hello Stranger! Nice to have you back!

I can't wait to hear more about your WDW trip. Do tell!! We're going in February (3 days in WDW and then DCL) and I want to hear about everything!

So sorry to hear about your parents. Frustrating. :headache: That's a lot of work and money to put into getting nowhere. I hope they have a nice Christmas somehow anyway. Thoughtful to send them flowers.

My parents are in Truckee with my brother and his family for Christmas this year. We were supposed to make it up there for a couple days, but just didn't make it with ear infections, the snow and utter exhaustion. So I won't be spending holidays with my parents either. My mom is very sad and upset with me. I feel just awful, but I really felt I couldn't do it without making our schedule too crazy. We have to be back here for my DH side of the family on the 25th and I don't want to spend Christmas eve in the car fighting to get over the snowy summit. Hopefully, my family will forgive me. :sad2:

Wendylady---I am sorry you had a rough few days. I hope things look up for you.

Is there anyone else counting WW points? I just re-rejoined...5th times a charm.:lmao: I was going to just count calories and fat...but I like the points system better. I strive to get more fiber-rich foods in so I can get more bang for my buck. Just curious if there were any WW followers.:)

I have considered WW points, as I know a lot of people that have done really well on it. But, not yet. I will be excited to see how it works for you. My SIL does points, and she lost a ton of weight, but she hardly eats anything at all (I feel like I would starve to death with what she eats)

Yesterday and today have been the worse eating days ever.

Good Luck! Keep fitting in those better choices.

So sad about your parents. This snow in Washington is enough allready!

I am impressed that you didn't gain anything at WDW. Good for you!

PS My confession of the day. I did make sugar cookies and I did eat 4 of them, in addition to a really caloric and fattening chinese chicken salad for dinner. I did not have the will power to not put the noodles and wontons on!
I did make it to the gym though!

I see you're also in Washington. Are you getting hit with all this snow too?! I don't know about where you are, but here in Spokane, the snow just keeps on coming! The stuff falling today looks kinda weird......like finely shaven ice. Maybe you can tell from this picture, but it's kind of hard to see what I'm talking about.

I think the reason I didn't gain weight at WDW is because even though we were on the dining plan, I'm not a huge eater to begin with (although I did eat more there than I would at home), and of course the massive amounts of walking helps.:thumbsup2

I thought there was a lot of walking at DL/DCA, but the attractions at WDW parks are so spread out, that it seems you do much more walking there to get from one attraction to another.

Don't feel bad about the cookies and not-so-healthy salad ingredients. It is the holidays after all. I little indulgence is fine as long as a person doesn't go overboard, and it doesn't sound like you took the plunge, if you know what I mean.;) Plus, you went to the gym! I think you're doing great!:cheer2:

Haha, yes I guess I am a stanger to this board lately. I really do appologize for that.:flower3:

I'm sure your family (and mom) will forgive you. Sometimes there's just too much going on for holiday get-togethers to be possible. If your family is within driving distance, then there will be plenty of other times to get together. Plus, with all the horrible weather lately, it's better to be safe rather than sorry.

We had a great trip to WDW.....even with the in-laws along.:goodvibes Lots and lots of people there, but we managed to get everything in that we wanted to do. I don't think I would go there during December again though. Just too many people.

We stayed one night at ASMo, and then moved to CSR for our 7 night package. We were lucky enough to get one of the newly renovated rooms at CSR, and all of us really liked this resort. It was beautiful!

This is our newly renovated room:

It has new pretty sliding doors instead of a curtain to seperate the vanity/dressing area from the rest of the room.

It also had a new LCD television - very nice!

The resort is so pretty, and I have way too many pics to post them all, but here's a few.

Welcome back Capri! Glad you had fun. LOVE the pics. I stayed at CSR last time we were there. It's nice. The decorations are so pretty. :santa:

Capri-Thanks for sharing the pictures! I've never been to CSR - it looks so beautiful with all the Christmas decorations and the rooms are nice! Your boys are adorable! I have one of those shark pictures with my DS from a few years back. Did everyone love WDW?

I can't believe it's the 24th! My kids woke me up this morning at 6am eager to open presents. It took my DH and I fifteen minutes to explain that we had ANOTHER day to wait until present time. They are SO ready for Santa!

It looks like my parents and brother are going to try to drive down today from Truckee in the mountains. Hopefully, the weather cooperates. We may end up spending Christmas eve together after all!

I did my fast runs today. Hate them. I don't like running at my maximum effort - even for 3 minutes (or 2 or 1....) Made it through them. So I have kept up my exercising this week! Though I have been on the elf diet of cookies, candy and eggnog. And I've been buying more candy everyday to bring in the house.

I hope all of you have a FABULOUS CHRISTMAS! Sending many happy wishes your way for a wonderful evening full of fun, family, yummy treats and warm and fuzzies.

And for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Christmas - that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance - a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.

Capri----I love the CSR pics. I am hoping to stay there when we go again. It is a great resort. I love that the buses were almost always not full.:goodvibes Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup2

Awww, how cute. Kids are so great. I bet that was hard on them though. A whole 'nother day to wait!! :rotfl:
I hope your family makes it to you ok, and the weather isn't too terrible! :wizard:

And I hope all of you ladies are doing ok and getting ready for a wonderful Christmas! Not sure how much I'll be on tomorrow, so I'll just wish you all a happy holiday now. :santa:

My eating was not that shabby and I'm kind of proud of myself.

I will be getting on that ol' bandwagon once again tomorrow.

Great job! :thumbsup2

My eating was great...if you're counting the more calories the better! :lmao:

Let's just say I indulged over the holidays. But I am proud of myself for exercising despite it all. We're heading to the mountains for some time and it will be harder to maintain the exercise program up there. And tomorrow is my birthday, so I definitely have some more calories before I get back to nutrition. I think I'll ask for some plane tickets to DL March 6-8 for my birthday :)

Hope you all had a great Christmas. It all ended up working out for us. My parents and brother and family came down last minute from Truckee to the Bay Area, so we had Christmas eve after all. And then Christmas day with my DH's families.

So now we're going to try to get at least a day in the mountains with my brother and his kids. Just got to get in my hour run, clean, pack and drive for who knows how many hours with the traffic.

Cheers!
-Jen

I hope everyone had a lovely Holiday!

I definitely indulged in some of the goodies. But the good news is that the goodies will be gone soon (like after New Years, right? ;) ), and we'll all be able to get back on track.

Jen, I hope you have a great time in the mountains with your family. Drive safely, and.......

OK, I almost skipped weigh in today. But I have never shyed away from the scale and I decided not to today. So over the course of a week, what sort of damage do you think one buffet, 2 days of baking, one meal at Claim Jumper (including that chocolate motherlode cake???), a huge Christmas breakfast, and a visit from Aunt Flo can do to a person?

Well, I'll tell ya........ 7 lbs!!! Yep. Seven pounds gained. From 214 to 221. But I did it to myself. I knew what I was doing and still chose to continue. Now I just need to get back on track and lose it again.

It's like gaining vacation weight without getting the vacation! :rotfl:

Ooops, sorry. Double post. Not sure how that happened.:confused3

Nothing going on here.....keep moving......nope, nothing happening......:rolleyes1

Well, let's blame two pounds on Aunt Flo! At least that's about what I gain every month w/a visit from Aunt Flo.:headache: But at least I can lose the two pounds every month too......and I don't even have to try or put forth any effort.

So really, a five pound gain is pretty good over the holidays.:thumbsup2

You'll be fine. As soon as these calorie-infested holidays are over (only one more to go), we'll all get back to our normal, healthy lives. In all honesty, I can't wait to get back to a healthier lifestyle again. I feel a bit bogged down by all the food and festivities, if you know what I mean.

BTW, I've been reading all the Ladies Only trip posts. I feel so bad missing it all. The plans sound like so much fun!!! I love the Tinkerbell design for the t-shirts. And having everyone put the design on their own style/size t-shirt is a very good idea!!!!! Wish I would have thought of that before. It would've made things so much easier.:rolleyes1 Oh well, live and learn. At least I know of the Design boards' existence now. I never scrolled down that far on the DisBoards until this year.:upsidedow

Ooooh, and the lucky ones who get to go for lunch at Club 33......man, I miss out on all the good stuff! I'm so jealous!

I'm so sad I won't be going. I'm sure going to miss seeing everyone.:sad1:

Capri - Thanks for sharing the pictures of your trip! I haven't been to WDW since I was about three, so I don't remember anything about it.

Jen I hope you had a great birthday! Happy (belated) Birthday!!!

Beth - You'll lose that extra weight in no time! Especially once Flo vacates the premises.

I'm up a pound, bringing me to 222 pounds. Flo is visiting me too, so hopefully at least a couple of pounds will be lost after she leaves. On the plus side, my binge eating has stopped!

I hope you all have a great day!
