We will be at Disneyland & DCA, 46 days after my daughter broke her wrist.

She will have her plaster cast off by then, but I'm wondering if there are any rides that she should not go on that may effect her wrist.

The Matterhorn is one that immediately comes to mind as maybe being an issue.

The main issue I can think of is when she'll be holding on in the rides. I'd probably get her a soft wrist brace from a drug store as added protection, just in case she gets bumped, or forgets and tries to do something she shouldn't.

with the matterhorn she can ride in second seat and just rest her arms around your waist....there is no bracing of the arms as the dips are unseen and not that steep.....whereas goofy flight school is out with constant arm bracing. and the drop on Splash may cause her to brace, but most of the time folks have their arms in the air or wrapped around the person in front......Roger Rabbit with the constant turning....there is little bracing on Grizzly, folks just hang on to the middle prop and go with the fall, and then depends how she goes over the falls, if she falls backward, she should be find, but if face down, she may brace her entire weight on her wrist....unless she trust her seat belt, then no need to brace at all.

My son and I went to Disney and Universal while his arm was still in a hand to shoulder bent at the elbow cast. I'm sure your healed daughter will be fine. :)

Have her do her PT. If she isn't being sent to PT, have her go to PT. And then make sure she DOES the PT. My stinker of a son was gung ho about it, but has lost a lot of the supination of his hand/wrist compared to his other because he's not doing his exercises.

We went to DL a few months after my son had his full arm cast removed for a broken elbow! No problems, no pain. But I like the suggestion above about a soft wrist brace. Also you could take a tensor bandage and wrap it if it is getting sore. Kids are fast healers.

Have a magical time!

I would make sure she as a brace to wear during the trip. If not extending the plaster cast (depending on how close to your trip she is to get it off). There are no restrictions on Disney's part with casts on rides.

Unless there is some type of time machine this isn't possible, as they are all individual seats now. No tandem seating.

oh, never mind.... but I did I see a year old video where there were slots for the person in the back to move there arm thru to the person in the front....my observation is that the daughter would be less unlikely to brace against a solid wall but could rest her arm on the side bar and then let it slide thru the open space.....but now that i think about it....it maybe be best for the daughter to wear a sling when riding any ride so that the daughter does not impact the wrist. Not that would be a problem on the matterhorn, grabbing the side like an actual bobsled would keep the wrist stable.

If her cast is off, her wrist should be stable. I don't see why Matterhorn would be an issue. Which bone actually broke? Have you asked her doctor? When my daughter got her cast off, her surgeon didn't want her to to use braces after as they would slow her progress. She was in casts for almost 4 mos though.
