I am heading to the west coast and wanted to hit both these parks. I have not been to DL in like 10 years and have never been to CA. What can you tell me about these parks? What's new @ DL? I was thinking of maybe going towards the end of October or maybe for Thanksgiving. Does DL do MNSSHP like WDW? Can you walk from one park to the other? Are they connected somehow? Do you have to purchase a separate ticket for each park? Can I use my AP there? Do the hotels discount, like at WDW? Anything new that I should not miss? HELP!!!

Yes you can walk between the two parks, which makes park hoping much easier then at WDW. You will need either a park hopper or seperate tickets for each park. Your WDW AP is not good at DL/DCA.

The hotels at DLR do not give the same type of discounts as the ones at WDW. But just as with WDW, check out mousesavers.com for current discounts.

DLR does not at this time have a MNSSHP but rumors are that there is something in the works. So keep your eyes and ears open for more info.

You will have a great time if you come that time of year. The Holiday decorations go up before Thanksgiving but the crowds are not nearly as huge as December. We do not have a halloween party (we had them several years ago) because of Knott's and Universal pretty much "owning halloween" just as disney "owns Christmas" but we are hoping they will bring it back.

We do have Haunted Mansion turned into "Nightmare Before Christmas" which is NOT TO BE MISSED and Small World gets a complete holiday makeover as well that is truly magical (the only time my hubby will ride it (lol))

the parks are a short walk apart with downtown disney in between--great park hopping! The tickets as far as I know are all park hoppers unless you just buy a one day ticket. There is a special online right now you should look in to:

Get a 5 day park hopper for the price of 3 days.

Offer valid January 8, 2003 through January 5, 2004 with no blockout dates.

You must use your first day prior to jan 5,2004 (or on jan 5) and then you have 13 days from first admission to use the other days. Guests ages 10 and up promotional ticket price is $119 for five days of back and forth admittance for both parks without restriction.

ages 3-9 tickets Park Hopper special offer price is $95.

Offer not valid at Main Entrance ticket booths.

can only be purchased online

I just wanted to add that DTD is off to the side of the parks not directly inbetween.

Kinda like this:

-------D
-------T
-------D
DCA*****DL

But I do agree that the way it is laid out makes for great park hopping and gives the ability to enjoy dinner at one of the fine DTD restaurants w/o wasting an hours or more getting back and forth like you would at WDW.
