For my daughters 4th birthday we're headed to Disneyland California for 2 days in December. We've already decided to take her to BBB but I wanna know if they have anything else special to offer on her big day that is a must do!??

If she is big on Princesses, eat at Ariels' Grotto in California Adventure. You start out by getting your picture taken with Ariel, then as you eat they announce each princess coming out and they go around to the tables aigning autographs, taking pictures, and talking with the kids (and some adults too), the food there is really good and its honestly my favorite. Surprisingly it is my sons favorite too. He flirts with the princesses. Beacuse of his autism he doesn't conenct with the characters in the park so much but boy does he light up for the princesses, he says Jasmine is his favroite.

It also depends on what she is into. You say you are going to Disneyland California, do you mean you are going to the Disney Resort in Califrnoa or just the Disney California park only? there are two separate parks there, Disneyland and Disney California ADventure.

You can drop by City Hall and grab a birthday button for her to wear during your visit. It will guarantee extra attention from the CM's and just might result in some special treatment which could add extra magic to her special day. :goodvibes

Get the button. My DD loved that all the CM wished her happy birthday. We went to Goofy's Kitchen and they put Happy Birthday on our family picture. They also gave her a special cupcake. The GCH (where we stayed) gave her a balloon and signed picture of so e princesses.
What ever you do, make sure you let them know in advance that this is for a birthday girl and they will take care of you.

We won't be staying at the resort, family lives in Huntington beach so we will be stayin with them during our trip, we're getting a 3 day park hopper. Will we have to pay for parking each day?

if you are getting parkhoppers and driving then yes you will pay for parking each day...its $15 a day

speaking of buttons, how much do they cost?

they are freeeeeeeeeeeee

The buttons are free, but they haven't had them in awhile. They've been giving out birthday stickers instead.

Some of the stores will have the buttons sometimes, so it's worth checking with them. We managed to snag one in front of the Plaza Inn a few weeks ago.

You might also consider getting the Photopass Plus ($70 pre-order) if you do the character breakfasts. I think (but am not sure) that Ariel's grotto is included (so you get a free print package, a $30-35 value)

Yep, the Ariel's Grotto pics are included.

Can't believe nobody's mentioned the afternoon birthday party held every day at 3:00 at the Plaza Inn! Each kid gets a birthday cake to decorate, and Mickey & Minnie make an appearance. Cost is $17 per person, and you can make reservations at the same phone number you call for ADRs.
