I was thinking about doing this but there have been some recent reviews that said they only got what was on the menu, nothing special, and the interaction with the staff/chef was lacking if at all. Since your boyfriend is a chef, he may get more interaction but you might want to check. If you go the chef's counter, I'd make sure you noted that he is a chef.

One of those reviews was mine, but I have to say that even if you only get regular menu food, it's still really good food - way better than buffet food. You could also just go to Napa Rose and sit in the regular dining room.

Just booked Napa Rose Chef Counter seats 3 and 4. Hope those are good seats and I really hope/think he will love this experience. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Storytelle buffet is GOOD we stayed a week at grand cali and did storytellers buffet 4x. Expensive but worth it!
