Disneyland Blog post - Candlelight Ceremony "Sweepstakes"

I'm glad for the AP holders, but I'm somewhat disappointed as the Disney Blog in early Oct noted that there would be dinner packages available for non-AP holders. Now they seem to have backtracked on that. :( We were planning on booking the dinner package, but I guess that won't happen now. I wish they hadn't gotten non-AP hopes up.

Does anyone know why it seems to take DL so much longer to get their entertainment schedule posted (i.e. for the Christmas holidays) vs Disneyworld (who seems to have all this stuff worked out 6 months in advance)?

Today is November 12th - and I am up and at my computer hoping for an email - a link on Disneyland.com, a mention on the Disney Parks Blog.....something....that will let me enter the lottery for the CP.

I never received an email that many people did informing us about the lottery opportunity, so I don't know if there will be an email that goes out today that I won't get. Has anyone received one? Does anyone know how to apply without an email, etc...? I am registered on the AP site (oh yes...I am) and get their mail and emails regularly - just not THIS one:confused3

As you can tell - I am super eager - and would really appreciate any information that anyone has.

Thanks!

I just entered the lottery...never got an email (then again I didn't get the last one either...)

I hope we get in, I could only register for one night because we are only driving down for one weekend!!!

Good luck everyone!!!

After I posted this, I poked around some more on Disneyland.com and found he sweepstakes entry form under Disneyland News. I wouldn't have thought to look there, but I just started looking at everything:)

Good luck to all who enter - although I was surprised to see that only 4 people per group will be admitted. We have a group of 4 so it works out for us - but for others - I know many will be disappointed.

The website says registration is now open, even though the blog hasn't added any new information... Try this link.

http://disneyland.disney.go.com/ent...lightCeremonyViewingOpportunities000505-11-12

If that link is broken, go here

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...d-candlelight-ceremony-viewing-opportunities/

Then look for the line that says "Until then, please visit this page for details about the event, and this page for a list of 2012 Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony narrators." Click on where it says "this page."

Good luck!

I didn't get an email either, so I thought it might not have gone through. I tried registering again though, and got a message saying that my information was already in the database, and winners would be notified on or around November 26. :goodvibes

It says I don't qualify.....Is it because I am from Canada? I have had my pass since Feb and have already been to DL 3 times this year. And gone to a AP only event.

I have been having issues signing into the passholder site as it doesn't recognize me and I have to go to Disneyparks.com to sign in then choose Disneyland.

It won't work for me anyways, I am the only one with a AP in my group. To bad, my mom really wanted to see it. Maybe we can see a little without tickets.

Thank you for starting this thread, and all you helpful DISers with updated links.

Good luck to everyone. :)

Correct. According to the official rules, "Open only to Members who are 18 years or older upon entry who are legal residents of, and physically located within, the 50 United States or D.C. ("Territory")."

I remember when they had some kind of drawing on the DIS, and our Canadian, UK, Australian (non-US) DISers were not eligible. It has to do with the US/State rules, not Disney rules.

I found this on "How Stuff Works"

Just for clarification, even if you had been entered and won, your mom would need an AP to join you.

From the rules:

No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law.
Must be a valid Disneyland Resort Annual Passholder as of November 12, 2012 and 18 years of age or older to be eligible to enter for an opportunity to receive wristbands that provide admission to a performance of the Candlelight Ceremony and Processional.
For event admission, every member of the party must also be a valid Passholder as of November 12, 2012.
Each Annual Passholder may only submit one entry for the opportunity to receive admission to the performance.
Each Passholder is limited to being selected for one (1) Candlelight Ceremony and Processional event, December 3 through December 20, 2012.
An eligible Passholder may enter a party size of up to 4 Guests (ages 3 and older), including themselves. Any of the three (3) additional Annual Passholders may be younger than 18.

Now Ive read the info Mary Jo posted it looks as though we wont be eligible for it - :(

...Maybe we can see a little without tickets.

Don't worry -- if you and your mom can be in the standing viewing area (which is all around Town Square), you should be able to see just about everything. We stand every year and can see the whole performance.
