Disneyland Birthday Buttons

does anyone know if we need to bring an ID or a birth certificate to get a birthday button/pin at DL? I'm taking my daughter in August on her birthday but I'm not sure if we need to bring proof. And is there anything else that you can you do/get on your birthday at DL? Thank you!

Nope, it's an honor system kind of thing! But beyond a million happy birthday greetings from CM's everywhere, no birthday magic is guaranteed. A regular-ish perk seems to be a free dessert cupcake with a candle in table service restaurants but that is not guaranteed and is likely the server's choice.

There are a few threads on here about making birthdays special, you might be able to search for them. Some of my favorite ideas were to decorate your hotel room before the birthday person checks in, order a cake from Disney's catering department to be delivered to a table service restaurant, and letting the birthday person schedule the day's events and pick out a gift from the parks.

Just a warning. We've done the birthday button a few times (and never exactly on my son's birthday, but within the birth month). Getting the button isn't an issue, but my son hated the extra attention he got and asked to take it off after about an hour. I don't know if your child is shy at all, but it can be overwhelming.

I confirm, it's an honor system thing. Also not sure of your daughter's age but if she's interested the stylists at Anna & Elsa's Boutique in Downtown Disney will "ice" her button if she'd like (liberally sprinkle it with Elsa's special snow glitter). I imagine the stylists at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique do this too but I've not experienced that personally.
