I'm super excited that we've decided to plan a short trip to DLR during Christmas time. We went in October for our honeymoon and I loved all the fall decor. So I'm sure Christmas is even better!

Just curious though, how busy does it usually get during that time of year? We're planning on being in the park Dec. 20th-22nd which is over a weekend.

Sooooo excited!!  :rotfl:

Expect it to be very busy, especially on the weekend. Still, DLR is beautiful at that time of year.

The crowds may make it crazy but the decorations and magic just can't be beat at Disney that time of year!

I predict it will be SUPER busy those day...especially since it's a weekend. And everyone will be out of school.

I LOVE Disneyland at Christmas time. We went the last few days of November last year...the park wasn't crowded at all. The decorations were lovely. I especially love New Orleans square and I'm obsessed with this staircase....

We go every year during Christmas time, but usually in late November. It is fantastic! Even if it is super-crowded, you'll have a great time!

ooh! that's soo purdy and exactly the reason why i want to expierence it at christmas.

crowds really don't bother me so much. i was just curious what to expect.

Yea, it will be busy, but SO beautiful. Make sure you watch the fireworks on main street! SO pretty.

if you aren't too concerned about trying to get one tons of rides..than i wouldn't worry about the crowds at all. just walking around disneyland at christmas (and really at any time) is so much fun. and i love taking photos! a lot of people think the rides are the most important part of disneyland. and while i like rides...that isn't my opinion at all. i'm hoping to make a trip back in early december this year (if we can afford it.)

Sooooooooo busy but absolutely gorgeous!! We went for DD8's birthday on the 15th. It was packed, she kept saying "don't these people know it's MY birthday and they shouldn't be here?" LOL She was kidding of course but it was much busier than we expected it to be.

maybe i'll get lucky and it'll rain a lil bit and scare some people off. i'm from oregon so i'm used the rainy weather. :cool2:

It rained while we were there last November. The rain actually made some of the photos look really nice.

(Did I mention I love taking pictures at Disneyland? Haha.)

We went to DL a few years ago on Christmas Eve. It was absolutely Gorgeous!
It was crowded but not as much as I thought it would be.

DCA's decorations are fun, too. A little bit less traditional, a bit more bold, and fun!

The scale of those ball ornaments was that each one was more than twice the height of my 3 year old. And the lights were on a very large scale...well of course they are, b/c the point of bug's land is that you have become a bug, in the lawn underneath the big haunted hotel. :)

And Beach Blast Santa. :) (forgive DS and Santa apparently ignoring DS...the photopass guy's camera died during their first meeting...then while the photographer was trying to fix things while Santa took a break, DS fell on his bottom and got the headache one gets when one does that as a child, and all DS was interested in doing, when Santa came back and I took some re-do pictures, was telling Santa about his head...Santa dealt with it as best he could, but finally gave up, and that was this shot, and the last shot before I, too, gave up)

And yes, rain does scare many people away, and therefore I almost always love rain at DLR, unless I want to ride something that closes in the rain (like teacups).

It will be busy but you will love it regardless. I hope we go back this Christmas again.

Here's my tip for Small World. Enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery at night (and be sure to catch the light show, it's amazing!). However, wait to ride the ride during the day. It looks the same day or night since it's indoors, but the lines were MUCH shorter during the day when we were there this last December.

Our first night there I was so excited that we waited in line a half hour, and the next day during the afternoon it was a 5 minute wait!!
