We recently stayed 4 nights here and just wanted to add my thoughts.
Can't really comment on parking. My husband found a spot at ground level as we checked in. It had a CVS customer sign, but the desk clerk said it was fine to park there, so we literally did not move our car the entire time during our stay. We kept our doors locked and didn't leave any valuables in the car and had no problems.
The room was very clean (of course, you'd expect that from a new hotel). Plenty of space. Pull out couch was comfortable. We were assigned an ADA room, which had a tub/shower combo. Water pressure was sort of iffy. Our shower had a handheld attachment and that seemed a little better than the shower head. The bathroom was huge! I had requested a high floor facing
Disneyland and we were on the top floor. We had a view of the Tower of Terror and could see part of Mickey's fun wheel. We could have easily watched fireworks from our room. We were a little nervous because we were in between the workout room and the elevator/ice machine, but we did not have any problems with noise, even with facing Katella. Housekeeping seemed a little off, they left a spray cleaning bottle in the room one day and another day they did not bring us any clean towels, but no huge problems. Also, they had the smallest hotel shampoo and conditioner bottles I've ever seen! I don't know how 6 people could share it, haha! It wasn't a huge problem for us, but if you're someone who relies on hotel shampoo, just be aware you may need to call to get some more bottles.
The decor is very contemporary, which isn't really my favorite, but no big deal. My kids thought it was weird that there were eggshells hanging in the hallway for decor, lol. Side note, the hotel is non smoking, but I swear I smelled cigarette smoke almost every time I walked to the elevator in the lobby.
The hotel rooftop pool area is awesome, lots of comfy seating. We watched the fireworks from there the first night we arrived and it was a great view. My kids loved it. We did not use the pool while we were there, but I have to say I was surprised how small it was! I think I've seen bigger bathtubs! I don't want to think about how crowded it will get during summer!
Breakfast was disappointing. I know it's "free," but the scrambled eggs were horrible, sausage and canadian bacon were cold. We did the make it yourself waffle the first day, but didn't really care for it either. The muffins and sweet breads were tasty though. The breakfast area is way too small. We went early enough the first day to get a table, but the next 2 mornings we just took plates of food back to our room. I kept meaning to try the Coffee Bean for breakfast since I even had a gift card that someone gave me, but I never even saw where it was located!
Having the CVS right there is so convenient! It's a nice full sized CVS, prices were comparable to our CVS at home. They actually seem to have an expanded variety of Disney merchandise including shirts, magnets, backpacks, postcards and toys, I even saw cute yellow Mickey ponchos! (not quite the same as the original ones from the park) We thought we would cut through the CVS to get to the hotel entrance faster(there are doors on both sides) but they lock the back entrance at night. I think it's a great addition for anyone staying in the resort area.
The walk to the park is doable, but it can be pretty rough on little ones, especially at the end of the night. There were lots of people walking and I never felt unsafe.
I would stay here again as long as the rates are affordable and the service is good. I was really hoping that I would just fall in love with this hotel and it would become our "second home" for our Disney trips, but as much as I thought there were some very nice things about it and our complaints are very minor, it just didn't quite measure up for us. Maybe if the pool was a little bigger and the breakfast a little better and if it felt more family friendly. Despite the rooms for 6, it feels like it's geared more for convention goers or business travelers. I would give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
