Disneyland App Ticket Question

I bought two 2-day park hoppers w/ MaxPass for my boyfriend and me when we visit in April. Right now both tickets are under the "My Tickets" section in the Disneyland App on my phone. How will this work logistically when it comes time to actually use the tickets? Do I need to reassign one of the tickets to my boyfriend, or can they scan both tickets off my phone? I'm the planner so I'll be the one booking all of our fastpasses in case that matters.

They will scan them right off your phone and then take your photo and give you a paper ticket as a backup. So your boyfriend will get "his" then. You will LOVE max pass! When will you be there in April? DD and I will be there on 4/10-11. Can't wait!

Thanks Leslie! We'll be there the 21st and 22nd. I planned it so we'd be there after Pixar Fest starts, but now I've got anxiety waiting for hours, times, etc to come out.

By the way, is it literally a paper ticket? At WDW it seems like they've moved solely to the plastic cards for tickets. Just curious.

I'm really excited about MaxPass. For a two day trip it seemed worth it, plus we get PhotoPass as an added bonus. I think I read somewhere that you can only use MaxPass at an attraction once per day. Is that true?

Yes it is a "paper" ticket. It's cardstock, not thin paper but also not plastic. I believe WDW has converted entirely to plastic/magic bands because everything there utilizes an RFID chip either in the band or the card. DLR is still using printed barcodes so paper still works for them.

I can't say we actually booked the same ride more than once with Maxpass but I'm sure rides we'd already done were appearing as available and have not heard that you can only do one Maxpass ride per attraction each day.

I'm almost certain we doubled up on rides at some point. I believe it is true that you can't have two FP for the same ride at the same time, so that might be what you're thinking of. So for example if you get a FP and the return time is three hours away, you'll be eligible for another FP after 90 minutes (or two hours if you didn't have MaxPass), but you can't pull another FP for that same ride at that point. You would have to wait until your window opens and you use the one you already have. For popular attractions you might not be able to get a second one because they might run out before you're able to use the first one, but not because there's a rule against getting a second one.

ETA: I just remembered there was one day on our last trip when California Screamin' had immediate return times, and since it was our last chance to ride before the ride gets rethemed we used MaxPass to ride it like three or four times in a row. So yes, I can confirm that you can use MP on the same ride more than once in one day.

I'm nervously waiting for this info too! With only 2 days in the park I like to maximize everything we do and that takes some preplanning. I was glad to get my Surfs Up breakfast reservation done this week:) So things are moving along! We are sorry to miss Pixar Fest but have to take advantage of DD Spring Break.

When I buy a ticket for a friend/family member on my phone, I take a screen shot of the ticket/bar code and text it to them. Then they save that photo and present their own phone at the turnstile. I still have it on my app too, but I figure it's good for them to have it just in case.

Ah, that makes sense with the RFID chip why WDW has to have plastic.

Thanks for explaining! I can't remember where I thought I heard it, but I probably got confused with something else. Good to know we can repeat as long as FP are still available.

Exactly, there's a lot I want to fit into the 2 days! We're really in CA to visit my boyfriend's family and 2 days is all we could sneak away for. I hope you and DD have an awesome time!

Good idea, thank you!
