Disneyland and FP+

Anything set in stone about DLR adding FP+ at a future date or time? If they chose not to does DLR become a more attractive option to families that would usually go to WDW? The mouse wins either way but it seems as if DLR is becoming a more attractive destination by the day...

DLR doesn't even have biometric scanners and instead uses barcodes for ticket media so even if FP+ were in the works for DLR it would be a real long while before it happened.

Personally, I don't see it happening. With Magicbands Disney wants to track guest behavior and give guests the time and opportunity to spend money on dining and merchandise. That's not really an issue at DLR. Everything there could pretty much fit inside Epcot. Plus, limiting advanced FP+ reservations to resort guests wouldn't work because there are only three resorts at DLR and they don't have issues filling in rooms. It would be an absolute mess if just about every guest that walked through a park gate had to be assigned FP+ times day of. They can't risk anyone else making FP+ reservations in advance not knowing if they're going to be in the parks without a resort reservations.

It's highly unlikely that Disneyland will ever go to FP+. Disneyland gets far more local visitors than anything else. Locals aren't going to be able to book FP+ 60 days in advance when they usually just wake up and decide to visit (or at least only know a few days in advance)

Honestly, we have been discussing the possibility of visiting Disneyland instead. The mouse still gets the money but we have done FP+ and didn't like it. The reports are only confirming our dislike further. We are giving it one more shot and if we still don't like it - Disneyland we come!
