WOW !!! WOW !!!! WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful trip to Disneyland California (and … BEYOND !!) we had !!

Same cast :goodvibes hehehe :thumbsup2 as described in my pretrippie :
take a quick look HERE , if you please .

Where can I start from ??? The DISNEYLAND California parks were just PURE MAGIC !!! even more than in my dreams of the last year !!!

Marco and I had a VERY LONG way to go : from Milano (where we live) we had to fly to Rome to catch the connecting flight to Chicago ; good for us that DGH decided to spend the overnight at the Hilton inside the Rome airport ……….. the whole trip would have been so tiring without a good night sleep !! here and there ...
;) ( All in all we had about 17 hours flight before landing in LAX airport !!! – still we both think it has been well worth it !!!)

Here DGH is standing near the fountain at the entrance of Rome Hilton ; that “man with umbrella” made me recall something :confused3 I had studied at school … what was it ???????????

We enjoyed our last Italian meal , a PIZZA with “everything you may want on it” plus delicious Parma ham on top !!!!

After a long , but uneventful transatlantic trip, we were to spend another night at the Hilton … but in Chicago, now !

DSCN5692.jpg

This room was way larger :) than the one we had in Rome : you know, everything is BIGGER in US !!! and the ITALIAN pasta I had before hitting the bed … was a rich serving , with enough food  for three persons (in Italy ) !!!

But I’m digressing …

Reading the pre trip report dear Melissa had asked about …

… that hotel you showed.. I think it's been there a long time and I always thought it was PERFECTLY themed for DL as well. If that's where you're staying I hope you'll post pics!

… so I’ll start with our beautiful hotel , just steps from the walk away to both California parks !
We had read different opinions about “Camelot Inn” , but we ABSOLUTELY loved it !!!

I especially loved the exterior “theme” ; it looked to me like I was “living” in one of those magic buildings in Fantasyland !!!

Coming “home” (after a long morning at the parks) always made me smile ; my hotel was waving back to me : :dance3: WELCOME BACK , your room is ready !!

YES !!!!!!!!!!! Our “mousekeeper” Julieta provided a splendid service each day :

I asked for early service - and the room was always sparkling clean , with loads of toiletries and even …

… nice decorations made of towels .

We found the FREE continental breakfast that Camelot Inn serves in their “hospitality room” to be very convenient :

Before heading towards the parks we enjoyed fresh pastries and muffins , fruit, cereals ,juices or milk or chocolate or coffee ; the young lady “in the kitchen” was working very hard to keep everything clean and well presented … it was a pleasure to tip her every morning , she really deserved a THANK YOU !! :flower3:

Our room was quiet , we never experienced noises … apart from “kids laughing and chatting “ on the balcony … who always made us smile !!

ry%3D320

:rotfl2: A frequent joke between Marco and I was : WHAT A VIEW from our room !! We can enjoy Matterhorn ( magical :cloud9: …especially at night !! ) and FEEL ASSURED that we have a Mc Donald’s just few steps away !!!!!!!!!!

Next part : HIGHS of our parks’ “adventures” !!!

CIAO , laura

:woohoo: :woohoo: I've been really looking forward to your trippie.

Your pizza looks yummy. :lovestruc Good that you had overnight stops to break your journey.

I love how the Camelot Inn looks - as you say just like the buildings in Fantasyland. Great to have stayed so close to the Disneyland Park.

Looking forward to reading more.:cheer2:

Thanks for your report. I always enjoy reading other's experiences. I appreciate what you're saying about the long flight. We're 13.5+ hours direct from Sydney!

OH yea!!

That hotel is SO SO cute!! Now I definitely want to stay there! I didn't realize it would even have some Mickey stuff (The banners hanging down) and a matterhorn view!! That was always the highlight of any kids drive to Disneyland... drive, drive, drive, are we there yet??? Drive, drive, drive..

LOOK! THE MATTERHORN!!!

:wizard:

Good times!

I'm glad your breakfasts went well! We were not so lucky with ours. My head almost exploded when I went down for our breakfast to find it "closed" :scared1:

Luckily, I didn't want to get any blood on my home-made matching Dis-inspired T-shirts! :lovestruc

Can't wait for more!

Great trip report so far. OMG I would love to go back to Rome and eat pizza everyday haha. When I was ther ein 2003, I ate everywhere I could and because we walked so much I lost a pound while I was there!

It looks like you guys had a blast!

CRMSCOTLAND : :goodvibes :lovestruc :) It's so good to "see" you on here !! Yes, a DELICIOUS pizza !!!! as they make it ONLY in Rome !!!!!!!!

IJPAREDES : :yay: It's nice to enjoy lots of food ... while loosing pounds !!;) ;) ;)

Kilieh OMG !!! Such a looong trip for you !! :confused3 though a direct flight is maybe less tiring than taking 3 different flights ...

Hi REYASMOMMY !!!

 CIAO all of you !!!!!
laura :)

Hi Laura and Marco!

It sounds like a magical trip! That TV in the Hilton in Chicago is very big for in a hotel! That pizza looks very yummy too!

The Camelot Inn sounds wonderful - it looks like you really enjoyed your stay there! :princess

Oooooooohhhhhh - have been so looking forward to this - a wonderful trip report from Laura and Marco!
What a great idea to break your long flight up with hotel stays like that - We are also flying to Chicago when we go next month - what did you think of the airport and is it difficult to get around?
The Camelot hotel looks wondeful and so close to the action! You look so relaxed and happy in that photo in the chair!
Lovely photos as per usual! Looking forward to part 2!

GREAT!!!!! I've been looking forward to this!
What a long journey - but I'm sure it was well worth it!! The Camelot Inn looks great - I'm really looking forward to hearing all about DLC and seeing your pics!!!

Hi Laura and Marco :goodvibes

Wow, doesn't your hotel look like Fantasyland Station especially in the 5th photo down with Marco .

And I agree with Caroline...that is some size of TV :happytv:

I know isn't it funny...Looks like Laura is going to be a good girl and just spin around in the Atlantic, but you never know about Marco if we do have another storm and it is named maybe Marco won't want to visit Florida this year either. :rotfl2:
