Disneyland 70th speculations and news

I just saw they added a little booth to Fronterland and you can scan your ticket and get a free little card the three cards I've seen are for the Disneyland railroad, Mark Twin and Golden Horseshoe

That sounds so neat. Are they like baseball cards?

I wonder if they will have this in each land with different cards. That would be so cool to collect them. I am have FOMO with all these 70th things when my next (planned) trip isn't until the 75th.

A TON of 70th merchandise was released in the stores today. Below is maybe 50% of what they had.

Photos: Disney_Hype_Beast_80 Instagram & Laurenn_Michellee Instagram. If you want to look at merchandise, those two pages have a lot of pictures as well as Sandra_la55 and Disney.kid.at.heart on Instagram.

They have some fun retro stuff like a pack of old school postcards, post-its that are shaped like ABCDE tickets, and the old pens where when you tilt them Tinkerbell & the Mark Twain float in water.

Customizable bubble wand. Each wand comes with one hat. You can purchase additional hats as well.

I'm going to need that 70th Pluto! So cute. I'm not wild about the 70th color scheme but there are a couple of shirts that would be neat to have. Hopefully it's all still there in June!

It makes sense that it is Magic Band. Most of these types of extras seem to be linked to Magic Bands.

Main street (the cinema)
Frontier land
Tomorrowland (Autopia)
Fantasyland (near the castle)
Adventure land (near the Skipper lockers)


I mean I don't want to complain too much but my pass almost cost 2000 bucks....like this should be for anyone at least with a MK....we used to get free FP tickets and now we can't even get these with the ticket prices...but its Disney. I should not be surprised at this point we've gone down a long way since the 50th when we got a free ticket into the park

Side note: I have absolutely no problem with the "quest" being something special for MBs. The failure of MB at DLR is largely borne on the back of not having enough uses for them, so doing something special for the people who bought them feels like a good thing. (Especially since MBs are faster at the entrance gates than scanning a phone or ticket, so encouraging people to buy them and use them would have a larger benefit.)

I don't see this is as being any different than Universal (especially Orlando) having special experiences that are only available to people with HP wands. (And DLR already gives free exclusive stuff to MKs - not everything needs to be included with park admission.)

I sympathize with your situation. Hopefully most MK owners also have MBs, since those are the people who go to DL most often.

If it's a MagicBand+, it will work at both DL and WDW. If it's an earlier version (MagicBand or MagicBand 2), it will only work at WDW.
