Disneyland 70th speculations and news

That's going to be quite an experience with PTN on the 4th plus the hub crowds. I will be at DLR, on the 4th. We are doing DL in the morning and plan to spend time in DCA late and watch WOC with the pre-show.
My gut instinct is that they won't have the parades that night. The dining package has Pride Nites blocked and July 4 blocked. I think the tour people just aren't as organized.

May 17 has a 9:15 am tour available. Are you looking for Plaza Inn Dining?

ETA: June 15 is Father's Day. Plaza Inn has special dining on Mothers Day and Fathers Day.

Plaza Inn Dining Package Blockout Dates
This dining package will not be available June 14 to 16, 18; July 4; August 17, 2025.
Thank you, was looking for Paint the Night dining

I looked at the tour, its cool but I just don't think I was to pay over 300 bucks for my wife and I to get seating

We just wanted to not have to wait 2+ hours to get a seat for the Parade. Wish Disney offered more then one dining plan for this like Fantasmic, like have a second and third spot open. It seems to sell well

Noticed a few 70th celebration items that were on sale in World of Disney when my wife and I visited on Friday morning, to check out the new t-shirts which are available. Some mugs, coasters and hoodies were on sale, quite pricey though.

The only 70th merchandise I've seen are this release. There is a baseball cap, MK shirt and purple woman's shirt that are not in the photo. I haven't see any hoodies, mugs or coasters.

Decorations are starting to go up in Downtown Disney today. They are making progress on the castle in the esplanade.

Additionally, on May 9, MK holders are being offered an advance purchase opportunity for 70 merchandise. Usually the advance purchase is one day before it is available to the public.

Slightly off topic, but I'm curious: does Disney release a lot of AP holder-only merchandise at WDW? I know that the percentage of AP holders is much lower there, but it's such a huge operation that there still might be a lot of potential buyers.

No, I'm not much interested in Disney merchandise. I'm just curious about ratios. What is your sense of that? Lots of WDW AP-only merch, or not?
Honestly, I don't pay that much attention to the WDW stuff since it doesn't apply to me. In general, I think MK holders purchase more merchandise than WDW AP holders do.

This is the first I've seen mention of the cooler. It says Magic Key below the castle and on the strap.

I was a WDW AP for the 2010s - to me, it felt like there was more outright AP merch available at WDW than at DLR, but it might be because of four parks instead of two and more regular events. For example, every EPCOT festival has a shirt and an item of some kind - as do most park events (anniversaries, etc). I don't know if they still do this, but they used to have a bunch of passholder-only MagicBands, too.

I'm surprised by how little DLR seems to market Magic Key on merchandise. It seemed like they used to have more ways to show off your membership during the DLR AP era. (There were times at WDW where you could buy AP logo merch - I didn't buy anything, but I loved the early/mid-10s AP design in particular.)

I'm still surprised that they don't sell an MK-branded MB+. I thought the first design was unappealing (hence why I think it didn't sell, and I don't know why they ordered so many of them), but there was a second one that was really nice - but they only sold it for two or three months (if that). (Pic from a blog.)

Just because it reminded me - side note about WDW AP merch.

They sold these a couple of years ago as WDW AP merch.

Are these not straight-up Disneyland designs, especially the Fantasyland one? (Seems like the kind of thing that would fit in nicely with the 70th. I'm surprised they don't sell more retro stuff like this in general.)

This line has been available for over a week now; from what I understand this jacket is very popular!
Yes, it has been available at Disneyland and DTD (DLander) but it is going to be available online starting May 19. The larger sizes of the jacket sell out very quickly. Med & large of the V neck seem to sell out quickly.
