Technically the anniversary is July 17. The official kickoff is May 22, with another 24 hour party. The Friday before Memorial day was the official kickoff to summer the last two years too. We are not going to the party. I purposely scheduled our trip before the party as I have no plans to be there for 24 hours with my kiddos.
