My wife and I will be coming to Disneyland with our 2 daughters who will be aged 1 and 4. We will have a 3 day hopper, which includes 1 Magic Morning. We would like feedback on our order of Disneyland rides. It is below:

Day 1 – USE OUR MAGIC MORNING
Peter Pan
Mr. Toad
Dumbo
Pinocchio
Snow White
Alice
Casey Jr.
Canal Boats (skip Casey Jr. or Canal Boats if needed)
TOONTOWN @ 10am Opening
Get RR FP
Meet characters
Gadget
RR with FP
Smallworld
Lunch
Mickeys Map
Tea Party
Carousel
3PM parade

Either Park hop or leave

Day 2

- Astro Orbitors
- Get 1 Star Tours FP 1 Space Mountain FP (use Rider Swap later)
- Astro Blasters (get a FP if disconnected still)
- Submarine
- Autotopia
- Use FPs
- Take Train
- Go for 1 Splash and 1 Indy FP (use Rider Swap later)
- Jungle Cruise
- Pirates
- Haunted Mansion
- Pooh
- Splash FP (meet Characters while waiting)
- Indy FP (Tarzan while waiting)
- Tiki Room

Leave for Naps. Return at night for Parade and Fireworks....

When are you going? That will effect whether train is available. I don't think I would do Astro orbiters first thing in the morning. There may be a height requirement on it also. Your 4 year old might be tall enough for big thunder. I don't see that on your list. I would head to the Indy side on day 2 first. It will be considerably more empty. You can do Indy without fast passes at that time of day.

No Disney California Adventure?
I wouldn't get a FP for RR at that time of day.
Do you really need to attend a Magic Morning?

Day 1 after lunch go to hotel for rest or pool.

I don't see why you wouldn't get a rr FP since you're passing by.

Have your kids been to the parks before? You're starting thrmnout with dark rides. Some kids get scared. Dumbo or tea cups would be better IMO.

Still working on California Adventure.

They have been to Disneyworld before and the dark rides are not a problem. We are flying in from an Eastern time zone, and the Saturday is our first day in the park, so they should be awake nice and early to use it the Magic Morning. We have plans on the Sunday, so we will be doing DL again on the Monday and DCA on the Tuesday.

I am not positive you can do parent swap using only one fastpass. I would want someone to confirm it works that way. Also, don't forget you can use your younger daughter's ticket for adult fastpasses at DL because they are paper fastpasses

Before we had any children that were >40", we used one FP and then did rider switch. You go to the FP line like you would normally, and ask for a rider switch after you give them the FP. They may want to be able to see your wife/children who can't go (they usually do on space mountain, at least.) We did this for every ride with FP, so we only had to get one at a time. Now we have some kids who are tall enough, so everyone gets a FP but we also still get a rider switch so some people can go an extra time.

Astro Orbitors was (inexplicably) my son's favorite ride, and it was a good one to do on magic morning, if your kids end up liking it. Otherwise the lines are long for something so short.

When my wife and I each go to get our 1 separate FP, one of us will get one for our oldest daughter. That way she can ride with her FP and the rider swap on one ride and just the rider swap (while one of us rides alone the first time) the second time.

Here's how I'd modify day1.

Day 1 – USE OUR MAGIC MORNING
Peter Pan
Mr. Toad
*Alice* -- the line for this gets long quick. I'd do it earlier rather than later.
Dumbo
*Snow White* - Also, SW before Pinocchio.
Pinocchio

I think you have done a good job and I would just say that your first morning after pan should be by feel because every time I go it seems to be a different ride that fills up first. All I would add is that it takes a few seconds to pick up a fast pass for astro blasters and it is a great ride to kill 10 or 15 minutes (when the fast passes are disconnected) while waiting for another ride or fastpass. Probably do it 5 or 6 times each day I am in that area.

Agreed. And as of last Sunday, BL FPs were still disconnected :-). Do it at least three times. And only shoot diamonds and triangles! :-).

Here is what I would recommend based on your attractions list.
I am assuming the Magic Morning starts at 8am and park opens at 9am

Day 1 – USE OUR MAGIC MORNING
7am-730am: Arrive at the entrance to Disneyland 30 minutes before MM starts. Keep in mind that it could take 30 minutes to get from hotel and through security.
8am-830am: Head through the castle and towards Peter Pan. If the line starts past the main PP building, skip it and come back later in the day once you have done everything else later in the day.
830am-9am: Next up should be Dumbo (slow loader), then Mr Toad (should be walk on), then Alice in Wonderland.
9am-10am: Now that the park is open, ride Casey Jr. (Save Canal Boats for later in the day, night rides are great), Pinocchio, Snow White, and Carousel
10am-1045am: Head towards Toontown. If you get there before opens you will see the chracters come and greet you. It's really a special type of experience. Take a picture with Mickey, Minnie, ride Gadget Go Coaster, meet other chracters, then ride Roger Rabbit, no need for a Fastpass the line will be short, and you would miss that great queue for Roger Rabbit if you use FP.
1045am-1130: Ride It's a Small World
Lunch
Then whatever else on your agenda

I am going to assume on Day 2 there is no Magic Morning and not sure when the park is opening.

Day 2

- Be at the entrance to the park 30 minutes before the park officially opens
- Grab a FP for Indiana Jones, ride the Jungle Cruise, then Astro Orbiter, then Submarine Voyage
- When FP for Indy is up grab a FP for Space Mountain. You now have roughly an hour to use Indy FP, now ride Splash Mountain with no FP, then Pooh, use FP for Indiana Jones, ride Haunted Mansion, then Pirates
- Before you use FP for Space grab FP for Star Tours and Buzz Lightyear, ride Space
- Have Lunch
- Now use that time your waiting for Star Tours and Buzz FP, to experience the train, Tarzan treehouse, Tiki Room, or meet chracters.

Thanks for all of the replies. Based on the advice here I have modified our Day 1 morning to look like this:
USE MAGIC MORNING
Peter Pan
Mr. Toad
Dumbo
Casey Jr.
Alice
Pinocchio
Snow White
Canal Boats
Run for Big Thunder FP
TOON TOWN @ 10am

The problem with lots of the Day 2 strategies that are trying to accomplish what we are is that they involve criss-crossing the park multiple times, which isn't ideal with a 4 year old who will be walking the entire day. If I was to stick with my original schedule (see below), what time do you realistically think I would be at the Jungle Cruise by and what will the line times be like by that point? I'm thinking we could be at Jungle Cruise right around the 2 hour mark.

- Astro Orbitors
- Get 1 Star Tours FP & 1 Space Mountain FP
- Astro Blasters (and get a FP if disconnected still)
- Submarine
- Autotopia (& get a Rider swap for later)
- Use Star Tour and Space FPs (save rider swap for later in the day)
- Take Train
- Go for 1 Splash and 1 Indy FP
- Jungle Cruise
- Pirates
- Haunted Mansion
LUNCH
- Pooh
- Splash FP and Rider Swap(meet Characters while waiting)
- Indy FP and Rider Swap(Both kids too short. Tarzan while waiting)
- Tiki Room

3PM parade

Use previously saved Autotopia, Space and Star Tours' Rider Swap

Head home
