Disneyland: 1 Person going into the park earlier

Hi,

I am planning on getting Genie+ for my family of four. I want to start book lightening reservations at park opening but my little kids might delay us getting to the park on time. Is it possible for me to go into the park earlier at opening time while the rest of my family is getting ready at our nearby hotel and book lightening reservation for all of us? Or does all 4 of us have to be at the park at the same time for us to book reservations?

At Disneyland I'm pretty sure you have to be tapped into the park to make LL selections. So they'd have to be there and tapped in.

All 4 have to be there. You can only book a LL selection after you are tapped into the parks. You could make yourself a reservation but not for anyone else who isn't in the parks yet.

All of you have to have tapped in, but you don’t have to be in the park to book if you’ve already tapped in earlier. So you could be back in your room for afternoon nap and be booking stuff for later. For the morning, if you have an older kid who can do some of the rides that have LL you could go first with that one and book LL for the two of you while the others are getting ready. We did this recently since my 6yo is the only one who’s tall enough and willing to do coasters, so we could do stuff that the younger ones wouldn’t do anyway.

We had this exact scenario when we were there last week when we went with our three teens. We did early entry and rode a bunch of rides since it wasn’t crowded yet and then once they tapped in at 9:30 I started booking genie + rides. Most rides were almost an immediate return time so by mid day at CA we had used up all our genie+ ride slots and would stack for Disneyland in the late afternoon/evening since we had park hoppers. We got 10-12 genie+ rides in each day.
