The 4 day validity thing with 2 day tickets is a WDW thing. All multi day tickets (unless otherwise stated) at DLR are valid for 13 days after first use.

It's why it's always good to check the days one wants to go. There's also times where a 3 day ticket might not be a better value than three 1 day tickets.

Think of all multi day tickets as being by default tier 6 tickets. They are good any day of the year within 13 days after first use (unless otherwise stated). One day tickets are only good on their matching tier day or lower. Technically the multi tickets do have greater value, but when the guest chooses to use them is what determines final value. Just like if someone used a tier 3 day on a tier 0 day (plans change and people move dates around all the time).

There are periods of the year where it's at least 14 days of tier 6 in a row. So that's where the best value is for tickets when comparing to one day tickets.

I think the bottom line is: check your dates both ways (one day tickets versus multi-day ticket, plus or minus PH). Buy what you like. BUT remember, if you buy one day tickets and your dates change, the price may increase (or decrease), and the price of a multi-day ticket may have ultimately been cheaper (or more). If you need date flexibility, the multi day ticket may protect from price increases if your dates change.
