Hi everyone.I have been reading all the post for a few months now. My daughter is having her wedding on Dec.7,2008. WP @ 2:00..I am very new to using the computer but have some questions and was wondering if any one can help me? One thing that is comming up is cinderella's carriage...My daughter would like to have it but we are trying to keep to a budget..Was/Is it worth all the money? Would you do it again? Another thing..Sit down dinner of Buffet? Thanks for all you Help..I am sure I will have more questions in the future,,,:)

Welcome! :wave2:

This is a great place to get answers to all your questions! I can't answer about Cinderella's carriage, but I can tell you that buffets and plated dinners cost about the same at Disney weddings, so there's usually no financial advantage to selecting one over the other. Also, some locations require you to have a buffet, so depending on where your daughter's reception is, the decision may already be made.

All things being equal, many people prefer sit-down dinners because they seem more elegant and swanky, but others prefer buffets because they get people up and interacting, plus there's more choice.

Welcome! I'm not doing the coach - just too much money for the short amount of time but I don't think you'll find a bride on here that regretted getting it - it's really just what's important to you or her!

As far as sit down or buffet - everything Disney does is really nice. In a lot of cases i think you can spend just as much either way, so again, just go with what you think you'll like best (you and your daughter) and know that disney will do what they can to make it great!

To me it was more important to pay for the characters and the MK photo shoot, not the transportation. If I had endless money I owuld do it in a heartbeat, but alas I do not :(

Ultimatley it is a matter of preference. I wanted the MK photos and pics with formal Mickey and mnnie so that is what I am coughing the money up for.

I had an escape wedding so I don't know about the buffet or dinner, however I did have alot of upgrades added to my wedding. I could've had a wishes wedding because I made the $10,000 min. I just could'nt meet the room requirements. I did have Cinderella's Coach and it made me feel like a princess. I would not change a thing about my wedding or the choices I made even though it was expensive. I also had Mickey & Minnie, they were so much fun to have and I would do it all again. I also had the Magic Kingdom photo shoot which was wonderful, 5:00 AM comes early but it was all so worth it. So basically it depends on your budget. If you don't want to pay for it let the bride and groom be responsible for it, if they really want the upgrades and it's not in your budget they should pay for it. I only say this because they are lucky to have you take care of the wedding. Alot of brides and grooms including my husband and I payed for there entire wedding themselves.

Northeast mom, can't really help you but just wanted to say your daughter is getting married on my one year anniversay.:bride: :goodvibes

Cinderella's Coach is something I'm questioning at the moment. Originally my DF said no as he didn't want to go in it because he thought it might look silly but the closer we are getting to the wedding the more I keep thinking this in the only chance in our life we will ever be able to do it. The cost is a big issue so we are waiting for our BEO to come in before we make a decision.

Thank you so much for all the help...I thing we will see what the BOE is and try to make the magic happen...I am sure I will be needing help in the future and you all seem so very nice and very helpful..If I can be of any help in the future I will try ....Thanks

These boards are invaluable when planning a DFTW. I don't know how I would have managed without everyone here. There is so much information you would never know if it were for fellow and prior brides. We even have managed to band together at times for positive changes. So if you have any questions, ask away...you have come to the right place.

I can totally help you here. I know you are new here, so you probably do not know my story. I was in the middle of planning a wedding for December 6th, 2008 when I found out I was pregnant. We decided to move our wedding date up to February 22nd 2008 and lots of things got cut from the budget because we had such short notice now. One of the things that got cut from my parents budget was Cindy's Coach. And I was okay with that, hell I was still getting a DFTW!!

Well when we went up to Orlando for our planning session at the beginning of January we were outside of Francks during a break and the Coach pulled up carrying another bride and I couldn't help it...I was so full of emotion that I couldn't have it that I cried. I wasn't crying because I wanted someone to say they'd get it, I just was so disappointed. Well my Prince Charming :cloud9: told me he would pay for the coach and I went from this  to this  in record time!!

Anyways..the whole point of this post was for me to tell you that neither I nor DH regret the almost $3000 we spent on my ten minute pony ride as he calls it :lmao: Honestly, I felt like such a princess...our guests were in awe of it and the pictures are priceless! If you can swing it...definately go for Cindy's coach...I promise you will not regret it!

PRINCESSBRIDE010103- Thank you for sharing your feelings about the carriage..It is very helpful to hear how special it made you feel..I want my daughter to have that feeling too....I will let you know how it works out..:thumbsup2
