I picked up 2 sericels/serigraphs/whatevers;), obviously reproductions/not original artwork/cel from movies, etc.; from an online auction house/ebay few years back @ what i thought was a bargin (since i like them lol)

Problem is, i've gone online, asked the artists who you can find @ WDW art store, checked out tomars (sp?) etc....nobody has ever seen these before.

do know there are lots of unauthorized/fakes floating around, wouldn't break my heart if they were.

The are obviously old & matting is "rough" to say the least; cel is intact.

The only thing i've found any remote possibility are souvieneers they used to sell on main street in DL & WDW in the 70's.

Was hoping that someone would recognize from these pics (didn't post the matching Donald Duck)

appears to be cellophane with drawing inked on over a colored background

it's entirely sealed in the matt-no cracks or folds, etc., here is the back

Yes, that appears to be a serigraph - originally sold at WDW. These are massed printed cels not limited edition cels, but were produced by Disney - as evidenced by the label on the back.

There are also sericels (usually produced in editions limited to around 5,000), limited edition cels (usually produced in editions in the 250 range with a few additional proof sets) and production cels (produced at the time the film was made - some were actually used in filming the animation, some were used as color model guides and some were used for publicity purposes).

WDW used to sell all of the above in the parks and in the Art of Disney stores, found in each park as well at DD. There also used to be a "Suspended Animation" store at DD - which sold cels, limited editions and movie posters until it closed several years ago.

I have a collection of about 100 cels. Most are original production cels, but also a few sericels and limited editions and some production drawings.

Enjoy your cels! :)

thank you Doc!:thumbsup2 enjoy your vacation:goodvibes

this could be the begining of a very interesting hobby;)

Plus..it should date previous to about 1986 as Walt Disney Productions changed to Walt Disney Company around then.
