The dress code for the Disneyana Banquet on Friday Sept 7th says
elegant & celebrabory
"""You're cordially invited to a glamorous event in the heart of
Hollywood Pictures Backlot. Walk down the red carpet, then
take your seat for a scintillating, spectacular production at the
majestic Hyperion Theater. It's an evening of Disney music,
magic and memories not to be missed! Celebrate with us as we
present a once-in-a-lifetime showcase of award-winning songs
and films, starring Special Guests from Classic Disney movies and
animated features. Your evening is complete with an elegant
banquet under the stars fit for a Hollywood celebrity""""
For you collectors who have attended before, does this mean long
skirts and sequins for the ladies and shirts and ties (disney tie)
for the gentlemen??

In 1997 everyone had to dress in costume. That was horrible.

Since then the dress for the banquet has always been described as "Disney elegant". There were those men that will wear tuxes and suits, and then those that wore casual shirts (they were in the BIG Minority). Then there were the 3 guys who wore the kilts. Most women wore a dress or a nice pants suit. Something dressy that your would wear to a special event or a wedding.

With this banquet being outside dress will indeed be a dilema. Will it be cold in September at night outside in the park?? I was there in July and it got damp and cool most nights. So a jacket is probably in order for both men & women. My husband isn't going this year, but if he was he would be wearing a suit with a short sleeve shirt. I pretty sure I'm wearing a dressy dress (one of my most comfortable ones) that has a jacket. I will dress that up with some Disney jewlery.

I'm not sure how much walking is involved with us getting into the park.

I hope that helps.

Bump.
Thanks Kathie, we did see kilts last year on a few gentlemen..

It is not very far from the front gate to the Hollywood backlot.

It will be cool in the evening so a Jacket is definitely a must.

I doubt it will rain in September.

I think the evening events look like a lot of fun.

Also, I got into Club 33 for the breakfast, so that should be cool to see.

I faxed a ressie for the Burbank Studio tour but was not notified.
TheLionKing, if you are David, then we might be sitting near you at
the banquet and the show.
Not looking forward to a 6 hour flight, but we are excited about
going to California.
My nephew(who just moved from NJ) works on the crew for the new TV series SCRUBS, and
he said we can come on the set during lunch to see him.

Yes, I am Dave....

I tried to get into the studio tour but was not successful. I think they sent out the selections on August 1st, so if you have not received anything, then I think you did not get it.

I hope that isn't the case.........

Looking forward to seeing you at the banquet.

Have gone to the web site giving info about the convention, but still have some questions, if you all would be so kind as to help someone in the dark! Can you only go to the convention if you buy the "package" that they talk about--the hotel, park tickets etc.? ( I mean besides, the "public day"). Can you not just book your own hotel somewhere or stay with friends and family, and just by a "ticket" that allows you access to all the events? And since it mentions that some seminars, "tours" etc. are extra, what exactly do you get in your "package"? And where do these events take place--in the hotels?

Who is the "average" attendent at these conventions? Disney nuts? Disney collectors? I guess what I mean is what is the origin of the event, how did it get goin, who, etc?

Is it too late to make plans to go? Do they have attendance limits?

How fun is the banquet night?

Anxious to hear some great info! Thanks guys!
