Disneyana august 2002????

I just found out that a Disneyana convention is happening during the dates that I will be there in August. Exactly what is it and does anyone know where it's being held in WDW?

It is 586 dollars for an event only entrance.

It will be held at the new convention center at the Yacht and Beach Club.

There are lectures, an auction, dinner and entertainment. The schedule has been shortened from previous years.

There is an opportunity for collectors to meet the artists that design Disney merchandise and collectibles.

I am not sure if there is a Public Day or not.

The event this year is called "Official Disneyana Mystery".

According to my registration papers this is what is included:

Auction
Theme Park Party
Seminars
LE Merchandise
Possibly Mickey's Attic
Possibly a closing breakfast

What's not happening:
Public Day
Speakers of the Mouse (this was where we saw the "big names" Roy Disney was the speaker in 1999)
Closing banquet
Cut back from 5 days to 3

All subject to change. It has already changed. When they first announced the event there was a closing banquet but no theme park party.

The price has come down but so has what is offered. You may want to call WD Special Events at 407-827-7600 to get on a mailing list.
I have heard that more information about the event will be released shortly. Hope this helps.

An iteniatary (sp?!?!?) will be coming out in mid-April. Can't wait to see it!

Also not happening: Welcome Party, 2 Breakfast Cupons, 1 Lunch Cupon. The Fairwell Banquet is still an unknown. The web site says Fairwell Feast. Although the handout at the end of the 2001 convention said Dinner, word is that it will be a breakfast.
