I am curious about the price you have. I was just looking up 6 day hoppers myself and found them to be $192.55. Please let me know if I'm looking at this wrong.

I got my quote through the group leader link for YES programs for 2012.

I just called and spoke to a CM. He stated that it could be done as long as the school sponsored the trip but that there was the 1 to 1 student/adult ratio that must be abided by. He did, however, state that children outside the age ranges of the class could be part of the "group" and constitute a child in the ratio, even if they couldn't attend the program.

HOWEVER, the most exciting thing he told me was that there most likely WILL be May individual enrollment classes and that they will be announced in early MARCH. Based on that, he suggested I wait until March to make it easier.

So I am going to wait until March before I do anything!

Thanks!

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

I had given up all hope of a May class. I so want to believe this information!
Arggghhh... that would change all my plans again because I would want to rent points and buy the dining plan.

You've given me something to think about anyway.

I know there's always different CMs giving conflicting info but this CM Brian seemed to know what he was talking about. So I have some hope. :rolleyes1

There is a 1:1 student/adult ratio permitted (not required) for individual enrollment classes. For group YES classes they only allow 1 adult per 5 children. His statement on that subject alone makes me doubt that he was as knowledgeable as he sounded. It was one of the things I was going to mention, but didn't, when you talked of forming a group. Someone would have to allow their child to be chaperoned by a stranger during the class. If you have 4 girls, and you add 6 girls from the DIS, you would only be allowed 2 parents. That means that you could attend the class, along with one other adult. So, some people would have to be content to allow their child to go without them.

I HOPE there really are individual enrollment classes in May. We'd love to go then. However, I've talked to many CMs who spoke as if they knew what they were talking about, when I knew for certain they were wrong. :headache:

I wasn't talking about the class ratio, I was talking about the ticketing ratio. For the group sponsored YES program, there is a 1:1 ratio for ticket packages-meaning only one extra ticket can be purchased for each "student" in the group. He did mention that students not taking the Class could qualify as a "student" for ticket ratio purposes. He did sound much more knowledgable than the other YES people I have spoken to (my daughter has taken YES classes before so I have been through the whole process). I guess we'll find out in March.

Ah, OK! That makes sense! :thumbsup2

I suppose we will just have to wait and see. I hate not knowing, lol.

I ordered YES tickets a few weeks ago for our Feb trip. Does anyone know if I can upgrade the tickets to add an additional day and/or the park hopper option?

Not upgrade when we pick up the tickets, but call and make the changes now.

Thanks!!!!

I am hoping to sign up for a YES class for the first time. Can anyone tell me about "Wild by Nature"? Does it include browsing in particular areas? Are any rides involved? Did you enjoy it?

Also curious, I've read in this thread that when you do rides, you wait just like anyone else. How is the class time adhered to if you have to wait in long lines? Also, what if it is a ride that you cannot or do not want to ride?

Thanks!

I've been reading up on this program and I think it's something my kids would love to do. (Not to mention I love the price of the tickets!! :rotfl:)

Is there a way to find the fall 2011 dates somewhere in this thread? Looks like we may be headed to the world next Oct. or early November, so I'd like to look at the time frames the programs were offered in 2011.

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

Time is going sooo slow! We are planning a June trip to Disney World. I am buying the tickets through Y.E.S. (So much cheaper). The dates do not come out until Feb. (I have been told.) Once those dates come out, I can do everything. I can lock my dates in, buy the plane tickets, reserve the townhome, and buy the Disney tickets. Until those dates come out, I cannot do anything. I cannot even pick exact dates. Just sitting here in limbo, waiting.

Earlier in the year they had all the new class dates listed. I printed out some info in the late morning and by that evening, everything was pulled. Nothing showing past February.

I can tell you the first date a class offered was on June 12th. Before that date there was only Grad Night on the calendar.

Of the dates that had classes, there were only two classes offered. I am hoping this will change when they open registration.

I only printed out the two dates I was interested in, the 12th and 13th.

One class was geared towards younger students. I didn't print that one because mine are older. The 12th was Everyday Chemistry and the 13th was Dynamics of Technology. The four classes on these dates were located in Epcot.

Hopefully this helps you some.

Me too! Don't fill up my classes! LOL We have our trip planned, dates and lodging. We just don't have tickets because I am hoping to get YES tickets.

Thank you so much for this info. We are hoping to get into Wild by Nature due to my daughter's age and interests.

We're waiting too, to see what's offered in late September....It's so tough to wait! I like to get as much of the planning done as early as I can, and we're just kind of stuck here until they post those classes! It's nice to have a little community of others waiting for the same thing! :wave2: Are you all homeschoolers? We've been homeschooling for 22 years.... our 2 daughters have graduated and our 2 sons are 10 and 15... none of them ever went to school. How about your families?? We've never done the YES program before but we're really looking forward to it this time!

No, we don't homeschool.

I'm a high school math teacher in a local Catholic high school, and my husband teaches English in another local Catholic high school. Our three kids attend local public schools.

Hence the August trip to Disney World.

Yes. I did this in June--added a day and added park hopper. No problems

Does anyone know if they offer March classes for individual enrollment? The calendar only went up to mid Feb.

I was wondering if anyone has the time to answer a couple of questions I have.

1. So if I sign one of my children up for a class on a day that individual enrollment is allowed I can buy park tickets for me my husband and my other son who is too young to participate?

2. is the art of animation class held at Hollywood Studios?

For some reason this whole thing kind of just seems too good to be true and want to make sure that I am understanding the individual YES program correctly.

THANKS
