Thanks for the info poohlovr! We weren't able to work it out for January, so would love to do this in the summer.

I've read some of the feedback from those who went. If anyone went to Ocean Discoveries or the Animation Discoveries, I'd love to hear what you thought.

We did the animation class on January 11. It was great-my daughter enjoyed it a lot. A variety of activities, and the instructors we super enthusiastic.

Only one other mother-daughter pair was there-a family of four had no-showed. So please everyone-if you sign up, show up! If people use this just to get a free ticket, there's no chance they'll keep offering it IMHO.

I just tried to register for June and it said they were no longer doing online enrollment? I need 10 day park hoppers and it wouldn't be at all cost effective to do it any other way, so I wondered if anyone had any success in doing longer tickets, especially over the phone. I'm afraid they closed the online registration to colse the longer ticket loophole. We are going 6/11-20 and my boys would love these, but need details before we book...the ticket savings would be nice too! :lovestruc

You can call and get details to see if they are going to offer the 10 day park hoppers again. However, they have not listed the registration information for June/July yet on the website, that is why you can not do online registration. From doing research it seems it takes a few weeks after one event ends for them to post information on the next event. But it never hurts to call and ask when the online registration will be available and if they will be making longer tickets available. Last time the longer tickets were not posted, you had to call get pricing info, and type that in the dialogue box.

If you call and find out details, please share. Thanks!

Okay Totally NEW to this YES program.

Can someone PLEASE :flower3: explain this to me?

I have looked at a program that my DS would very much be interested in. (the one I am looking at is "Disneys Leadership Excellence" )
He is not home schooled and is not part of a group.

BUT, I see that some of you have gotten your child/ren in a class. :confused3
Am I able to get him registered at all for this program? TIA!!!!

Disney did open enrollment for January and has more planned open enrollment dates for June and July. Open enrollment means you do not have to be a part of a group. The tickets are a great value and the classes are great.

We went as homeschoolers but many in this thread went under open enrollment. We all loved our class. Of course we would have loved any class at Disney- 10 days of learning at Disney vs. 10 days of Homeschool:thumbsup2:thumbsup2Hands down- Disney is the winner!:rotfl2:

It was great because the learning from our class is continuing. We are making air cannons today!

This reminds me, I need to send an email letting them know how much we enjoyed the class.;)

By the way, if anyone would like Sarah's manager's or the operations manager's, names and emails so we can let them know how much we appreciated the classes, Y.E.S. programs, the fact they offered extended day tickets, and the wonderful way Sarah helped us all through the process- PM me.

If you go to http://disneyyouthgroups.disney.go....ender?page=OpenEnrollmentEventInfoListingPage you will see info about January being open enrollment month. You can call (let me know if you need the number and I will check my records) or wait a couple weeks for them to update the site to include the dates for June and July (someone listed all dates and classes and few post back).

All members of you family can get the discount tickets during open enrollment/home school days events. All tickets will say youth on them because they are purchased through the Youth Educaional Series, however, they are good for everyone in your party. Last time they posted 2,3 and 5 day tickets but if you called you could get info on how to get a 10 day ticket. I hope they continue to offer the option for longer tickets.:thumbsup2

I am sure you son will love the class. (And maybe in the future participate in the college program at Disney)

Feel free to ask me any questions- it was a great experience for us and I want to spread the word so more families can experience the magic.:wizard:

Hoping to be able to take my four kids to the September classes. When will the open enrollment for September start?

I am interested in the Theme Park Adventures one. I am a mom to homeschoolers so I was thinking that may be cool. I tried to click on the ticket link to see what it would cost. I selected my options then the next screen was asking for Group name info and that kind of information. I was kinda bummed but thought maybe we can name our organization our own silly name. Just wondered if anyone has purchased these tickets on their own and what you put in the info spaces. Do you have to be structured as far as an "official" organzation or can you be an individual making the purchase?

Many places that offer free or discounted educational services, require a name (probably for grant paperwork). Many homeschoolers use their last name, Smith Learning Center or Jones Homeschool Academy. I know some that use their street name. We use an acronym for our homeschool. It was fun coming up with something that represented us. I even made us all ID cards. There is nothing "official" about the name.

Homeschool Days/Open Enrollment days at Disney is open to individual families. All adults get discount tickets as well.

You can go with a group of 10 or more any time for the Y.E.S. program. The difference is that all the adults can not get the discount ticket then. Only I believe one adult ticket for every five children.

So I called about June/July and was told they are only doing 8 day tickets... :confused3 She did point out that you can get the premium tickets that have the water parks and DisneyQuest so you can get 10 days out of them, just not 10 in the park. The price for the tix for 8 day premium was around $200. That's an amazing price as I believe it saves us $400 plus we get the water parks. I'm thinking we may go this route as I know the kids would love the ocean class. I don't see how you can lose on this as long as your kids are "learners" and would like to take a class at Disney. Mine would love to go to school there permanently!

For every child you get an additional companion package at the same discount price. A companion can be anyone not attending the class. So for example if there are 12 children in your group you get 12 extra packages at the same discount price. If you have 12 children in the group and 15 companions the remaining 3 companions will have to buy ticket packages at the regular package price. :)

My update on Email to Disney:
I did receive a response back to my inquiry about upcoming open enrollment for june/july. BY phone was told, they had no idea, by email: They sent me the flyer with the open enrollment:cheer2: SO excited!

The letter said that all members of the family could get the tickets, not just the child/adult that were attending, someone above said only 1 adult and child gets discount :confused3 (and for a High Schooler, I still would attend? My HS'er was like, huh, he wants to go alone, don't blame him, LOL)

I dropped them a follow up email asking for clarification for the tickets as I was interested in knowing/confirming
*If ALL members of our trip could get the tix?
*If all the tix had to be the same (parks/options)
*More than 5 days available?
*How many total could I get (we are traveling with my sil) that 'd be VERY lucky for her to get a discount too, but not my prioroty if you know what I mean :rotfl2:.
*Can we register for more than one class/cost (I think the answer is extra $26 per class!) MY son found two, they look so great, we're excited.
Keeping fingers crossed he gets in!!!
I printed out the enrollment form on line which asks "group" questions, so I just wrote "open enrollment" on the top and filled out what I could.

Will let you guys know what I hear..........

If you are attending the June/July Open Enrollment everyone gets the discount price on their ticket packages. BUT if you are planning a Y.E.S. Group any other time of the year outside of Open Enrollment you are only allowed 1 discount package to 1 participating child. Just wanted to let everyone know that because the requirments are different when it comes to Open Enrollment. :thumbsup2
