Got a call today (caller ID said Celebration with a 407 #) so I picked it up.

Our class for 1/18 for Ocean Discoveries @ 8:30am did not fill up, but we were able to switch to the WILD BY NATURE at Animal Kingdom for the same time. She offered it for the next day, but we leave for home on 1/18 at night.

We are going back in September, hope they have another open enrollment for then!

MCAZER: I am signed up for Wild by Nature on the 18th. My name is Kim and my daughter is Emilee(10) look for us and say hello.

well, I am excited to hear that filled up and hopefully the one at MK on the 19th did as well.:yay:
We had some friends signed up for the Oceans with you so I know they will be bummed.

Now, I have received my park hoppers but I haven't received anything for the class itself. Does anyone know if we are going to get some or do we just show up. I would assume we should get something as to where we are suppose to meet.

I am getting excited only a few more days left.

We signed up for Wild by Nature on the 18th too. I'm glad it looks like it will make. We have not heard anything at all so far.

We also are signed up for 'Wild by Nature' but on the 11th not the 18th. I was just coming to check if anyone had heard about tickets for it or what. We are leaving to drive down tomorrow! So if they've sent them I won't get them! I'll have to call tomorrow before we go and see what is up!

I just spoke with a youth programs ticketing CM this morning because I had some questions about my order. The prices she quoted were: $195.73 for an 8 day premium (hopping and water parks), and $205.22 for a 10 day premium. (Apparently the 10 day tickets are not standard for them as she had to take my number and call me back after checking on them.) We opted for the 10 day tickets. We probably won't need that many days, but for only $10 more I'd rather have them and not need them than the other way around.

The webiste quoted me $173.68 for a 5 day premium ticket.

I didn't inquire about any other ticket configurations, sorry.

I read here on the DIS that they also offer the open enrollment Y.E.S. programs in September, but I haven't any firsthand experience with that. This will be the first time we have tried it. Both DD and I are looking forward to it. :goodvibes

ETA: Oh! And you do have to purchase the tickets you want in the beginning, when you initially register and order your tickets, as they are not upgradable later on. So you can't change your mind and upgrade them to add hopping while on vacation, or whatever. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for all the info.

I only saw 3, 4, and 5 day tickets on the website so I thought that was the maximum you could get. We usually get 10 day park hoppers, so I'm glad to hear they offer them.

The programs sound like something my kids would really enjoy and it would be nice to save some money on the tickets at the same time. :goodvibes

Thank you, OP for posting this info! What a great program.

My dillema is this: my son is 6 (in Kindergarten). I'd like to take him to Wild by Nature on the 18th, but the program description says 2nd thru 9th grade. I emailed Y.E.S. about whether he could attend or not, but still have not heard anything back. He really is a very mature 6 year old, and very interested in school, so I think he would do great, but ultimately I don't think it is my decision!
I am anxious to buy tickets from the program soon since we are leaving in a week (can't wait!), but what happens if I buy the tickets and then find out he is unable to attend? (if the transaction even goes through) :confused3 Does anyone have any more information regarding the program?

awesome! thanks for your reply. I guess I'll go ahead with the tickets and wait to see if they reply to my email. I won't tell him about the class yet, just in case. :goodvibes

Please keep us updated on what you find out! My 2nd grader is attending Wild By Nature and I had not planned on bringing her brother (Kindergarten). But if that's a possibility it would be great!

OT: My 7-year-old's name is Emilee! I have never come across the same spelling before. She complains all the time because her name is different from everyone else's. Now I can tell her that there is at least one more "Emilee" out there, lol. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the info.
You're welcome! :goodvibes

But that defeats the entire purpose of purchasing tickets through the program, and really is just "cheating" the system.

There are different programs available in January. Some have a "Engineering the Magic" class included and some a YES class included. Both allow you to sign up for additonal YES classes. Even though the open enrollment states for students 1st-12th, only one class is listed for first graders. If her son could not attend the class, her tickets would still be valid. However, the best solution would be to call and talk to Sarah and ask her if it was okay to purchase tickets for a Kindergarten student and family if there is any doubt.

The Engineering the Magic program is still a program. I was under the impression that the above poster was saying it's okay to purchase tickets without attending anything, hence my response. Sorry for the confusion.

I still have not heard back and can't make personal calls to Disney at work, so I'll try another email tonight. I'll post any response I may recieve regarding the kindergarteners in the classes!

(I want to do what is right, I don't want anyone thinking I'm cheating the system, I just wasn't sure what would happen if I went ahead with the tickets and then they said he was too young. :))

:)If you have questions, you can call Sarah at 407-566-7647. She is very nice.:)

She might even suggest you go the Homeschool ticket route so your son could attend the "Engineering the Magic." It is not one of the additional YES programs offered but does sound like a very nice presentation. Here is a description:

On January 25 and 26, 2010, at the Magic Kingdom® Park, bring your students to see "Engineering the Magic". Science rocks in this one hour interactive presentation hosted by Disney Engineers. Everyday, this incredible team uses science to create the world famous attractions and tell the stories that transport Walt Disney World Park and Resort Guests into some really exciting places. Engineering the Magic is food for your brain as you discover the scientific principles that put the thrills, chills, and fun into the most magical place on earth. Jump on board and discover the engineer in you!

:)It sounded to me like you wanted to attend but was not sure what would happen if you could not. I was simply saying that the tickets are valid either way. I have read how people signed up for classes in the past that were cancelled because of low enrollment. That did not change their ticket status. :) Hope that helps explains my original comment. (I was trying to give a short and sweet answer but guess I should have been my typical long winded self:rotfl:) I tend to give more info than one really wants so I was trying to keep it short. Sorry for any misunderstanding.:littleangel:

I don't remember seeing that info for engineering the magic - where did you find that description?

ETA Never mind, I see the link a few posts back
