Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

This may have been answered somewhere in this very LOOONNNGGG thread.

But, My DD8 would absolutely love one of these classes. She absolutely loves to learn and what's better than learning at one of her favorite places??

Anyway, we are going April 2012 and it looks like they do not offer individual enrollment then. Can a group be made up of Disers or does some documentation need to accompany the "group" making it an "official" group?

I emailed the Yes program but never heard back.

THanks.
It needs to be a documented group from like location ( your town, school ect)

BUT Hold out Fall dates did not show up till last month and I am sure Spring will not be posted till near the end of fall.

Thats what i heard anyway.

I want to sign up for one of these yes programs for my son, the how things move one, if anyone has any insight that would be helpful, I have a newly turned 5 year old, and was wondering if it would be fun for him.

Also What would happen if I signed up for the program say on July 20th, and used my 3 day ticket prior to that, or what if I just had no intention of going to the class at all, just to get the discount tickets. what could they do, call my phone.

I want to know if anyone has done this. do they send you a penalty fee bill.

REALLY? :mad::sad2:
Yes unless you take the YES rep a hospital verification form from the day of your program your tickets will be voided for the remainder of your trip, plus you will be charged the price of a 10 day MYW ph+ nonexpiring ticket for each person in your party.

You're either being a troll or just a rude person either way you suck!

If Disney does not already have a policy in place to penalize this type of behavior it will soon or it will close the OPEN enrollment of the program due to this type of attitude.
I would STILL sign up if I was told I would be charged full price if we did not attend the class (they could have a hand scanner scan the tickets to account for all tickets issued for that class group).
If you break the rules the rules will be changed or reinforced. It will make it more difficult for the honest person to enjoy :sad1:

I have a question I am hoping you can answer for me, I am looking at doing the YES program this summer, here is my question, I have 3 children I was going to put in the program, my dd 8, my dd13 and my soon to be step son 18 (I am getting married during our trip to FL), here is the problem, my DD 13 can not seem to stay out of trouble(I am speaking legal wise ex running away sneaking out etc) I am trying to get her father to keep her over vacation as my little one has suffered over the past year for all the trouble she has been in, but he is insisting that I take her, but if I sign her up and she gets in trouble again(we are currently trying to get a correct mental health diagnosis on her) she will not be able to travel with us and will have to stay with her dad, will I have any trouble if she does not do her class(she would also not be using her ticket which is a waste of money but that is another story) I don't want to get in bad graces with anyone over this but I want the other kids to be able to have this opportunity...Any advice would be greatly appreciated

You know honestly to avoid the possbility of problems I just wouldn't sign her up for the class. You could still purchase her ticket through the YES program without signing her up for a class. That way the other two still get to participate, and you don't have to worry about her filling a spot.

:thumbsup2

Dont sign her up. You can still get a ticket for her if you have 1 child attending

thanks for your replies I really appreciate it....my concern is leaving her alone as I have to do the class with my littlest one due to her age and since classes are only offered on 1 day of her stay I may just ask my fiancee if he will let his son do his class alone so he can stay with her if she goes

A group is a recognized youth group ( ie Boy Scout Troop, etc. ); they are not allowing 'created' groups any longer.

Individual Enrollment classes typically aren't held during mid-Feb through May or November - December; there is a post couple pages back where someone posted a reply from YES group regarding no classes during spring time. This year,2011, Individual Enrollment classes were held in January through 2nd week of February (but not entire month of Feb. if I remember correctly) and there will be Individual Enrollment classes June through August and dates have been posted for classes in September & October but registration has not opened for Sept. & Oct. just yet.

Hope this helps some with your planning & good luck :goodvibes

We didn't pay attention to who used which ticket because the YES tickets didn't require scans. A few CMs looked at us weird when we went through, but once they saw the tickets were Youth/YES they were ok.

So, how do they work for fastpasses? I assume you can still get fastpasses with these tickets? I ask this because last time we were there our tickets became demagnitized, the CM let us through anyway without insisting that it be fixed, and then the tickets didn't work in the FP machines. Needless to say, we went and had them remagnitized.

Forgive me. I've read oodles of pages of this thread and can't find what I'm looking for. This is all new information. I would love to get YES tickets, mainly for the savings. We are not staying onsite and not until next year (2012). My family consists of 2 adults and one child.

1. I believe I've understood that we can all buy the YES tickets.
2. Can we all attend the YES class? We would buy individual, not homeschool option.
3. Other family will be down there with us but we haven't coordinated what we will do together. Could we buy several YES tickets together? The adult ratio would outweigh the kid ratio a bit. Which, if any adults, could attend the class if they wished to do so?
4. Do you indicate who will actually be attending the class (adults and children) when you sign up?

Thanks!

They might not need finger scans but they look just like regular tickets so I don't see why they can't be used for FP.

We just came back from our first YES trip and it was wonderful. Mandi and Marie were wonderful instructors for the Wild By Nature program in Animal Kingdom. My son, my husband and myself loved this program. Marie and Mandi just made it so fun and entertaining. I would love to take another class especially with those two as instructors.

This one sounds wonderful and perfect for my daugher when we go in 2012. Can you tell me more about it? Thanks so much.

Yes, they work just like regular tickets for Fast passes.

If the other family has kids participating in the YES program, you can all get tickets. One adult per child can go to the program and you sign up for number of adults and kids in the class(do not have to give names) Only immediate family of the pariticpants can get tickets, so you wouldn't be able to get tickets for them if only your kids were doing it.

I am trying to buy my open enrollment tickets online and it's only letting me choose 2 tickets to buy one for the child and adult attending but will not let me increase the number for the rest of my family- does anyone know what I am doing wrong

We will most likely have 3 generations - the grandparents (2), their children and spouses (us- 6), and the grandchildren (6). In all - 8 adults, 6 children. If I understand right, I could get 12 tickets at the discount rate, but not for the grandparents (all the parents and children). When I buy the tickets, if we register the children and one adult per child, how will they know we don't have more tickets in our party? Is it mainly an honor system?

Grandparents are considered immediate family, so you are good. You order tickets on a separate page from registering for the class. Only one adult per child can go to the class, but you can get more tickets than one per child. We have 8 in our party; only 3 are children. It IS an honor system pretty much. It has a disclaimer on the site that the tickets are for the YES child and immediate family.

The fall dates are now open. Just booked the Sept 12 date for 7 nights.

For WDW or for DL? I was only able to see bookable options to August 22 for WDW.

There are new options available for the gap between Sept. 23 and Oct. 10 - this is nice to see!!!
