Disney Y.E.S. Program

You all will appreciate my heart leaping when I opened my email and saw "open enrollment." Yes it was a Medicare spam...

Thanks for the review, HayGan.
Just a thought, was it as hot as others have reported at the class? I'm wondering if the heat made the class less than ideal?

No the heat wasn't a factor for us as it was actually a very pleasant morning in AK. The early start and length if the class (as well as the material) were our reasons for not ranking it highly.

My daughter was in that class too! She was the only one there with her dad, so I'm sure you know which one she was. DH also thought it was too long, but he wasn't feeling the best either, thought 2 hours would have been plenty. If we every do it again, we'll try for the aquarium program at Epcot. DD seemed to have enjoyed herself and learned some things, so that combined with the ticket discount made it worthwhile.

I recognize your DD from our class. Your DH was the only dad there. I didn't think he looked any less or more bored than the rest of us! I was tr one with two boys who were obviously not paying attention and I was the one wearing the tiara :) )

We will try to do a different class next year. We will just have to see what they offer.

(Now I must return to paying attention in the Soarin line)

I went to look at the website again and it said "down for maintenance" . It is back up and the entire page looks different?
I see individual enrollment for 2012, but still not for 2013? The drop down box doesn't have that option in 2013.

I've played with it a little bit. WDW shows Jan & Feb drop down box, then I go to "purchase" tickets, it doesn't have individual enrollment in the 2013 drop down box. Hopefully someone will come along with more knowledge...lol :upsidedow

I agree with what you are saying. I have been waiting for the Disneyland stuff to come up, which it has. Clicking through for Disneyland take me to an order form....different than WDW.

It does look totally different though, right?

I selected an Individual Enrollment class and then it takes me to a group purchase page. Hopefully they're just working out the bugs and it'll work shortly.

The price to the right side says $150-220/class.

Disneyland has a completely different enrollment than WDW. I know because I tried to get my DS in the leadership class for Dec 14/15. I emailed and sent the form in and received an email back saying there was an opening. The problem is, they will not confirm the class until 2-3 weeks before the class begins.

For me giving I am on the East Coast, I will not be able to take advantage as I needed to know for sure that I got accepted and the class was happening. Therefore, I am going to plan the trip for the end of Sept 2013 and hope that we get into a class then.

I will go to WDW for a class, Disneyland, I will have to be planning a trip there and hope I get a class. Much different policies.

Do you know if it is the same in that you can purchase tickets and still use them if the class cancels? We already have a trip planned to Disneyland for the end of January and the class dates work perfectly for us. It would save us a lot to be able to get park tickets and have my daughter take a class or two.

Thanks for any info that you have. I may have to call them later and see what the deal is for those classes.

The site lists Individual Enrollment dates for Jan and Feb 2013 at WDW but then on the drop down menu for purchasing tickets, IE is not an option :confused3

There seem to be very limited dates for the individual enrollment- I am looking at Jan and Feb and most programs have one or two days open available for the whole month. Is this typical or have they really cut down on the programs offered for next year?

My understanding is that you have to wait to hear that the class is confirmed before you can buy the tickets. (At least, that is what I am in the process of waiting for, with the Dec classes)

If I were you, I would go ahead and fill out and fax the form and send the email. He will confirm if there is still room in the class, then tell you to wait for the 2nd email (2-3 weeks before the class starts) to confirm and purchase the ticket package.

They have classes out there that sounds great, so if they have classes on a date you are going to be there, I would definitely sign up , fax the form send a confirmation email and wait. If at two weeks your class is cancelled, you can always buy discount tickets at http://arestravel.com/722_DisneylandResort.html aRes which is where many other dis people have bought their tickets.

For me, I was trying to go for the leadership class and I can't wait to book airfare 2 weeks before the class is confirmed. SO it is best for people in your situation, those already going that have found a class for their dates :) I hope you tell me all about the class if you get it!! I would love DS to do a few of the classes they offer.

Yeah, I'm seeing tabs for Individual Enrollment, and am able to find dates when I drill down, but no way to actually purchase tickets (just groups). Argh!!!

Is anyone seeing the aforementioned updated ticket policies?

I just called and was told that 2013 Individual Enrollment will not be open for registration until the end of the month. Only groups are eligible to register at this time. I also asked about discounted tickets and was told that only one adult per family is eligible for the discount. (This is for WDW.)

Scheduled for a class next Tuesday the 23rd. Should I be receiving any confirmation other than the one I got when I originally booked?

Thanks!

I am thinking they are in the process of deploying the new website and hopefully will have it fully functional soon.

One adult per family? Darn! We have 3 kids, one in HS, the others in elementary. So, it's not like we can put them all in the same class.

Did they say if prices went up? I only see the 2012 prices right now.

Thank you for sharing your information. Why would they post the dates and have a register/purchase tickets option if it is not available?:crazy2:
