Disney Y.E.S. Program

I realize that the chances that the "How Things Move" class being offered for 10/31/2013 is slim to none. We're going for my DGD's 5th birthday (DOB 10/31/2008), and that's the only way we could even think about YES tickets.

There's always hope. :)

Couple of questions.

1) It looks as though packages are only being offered up through five days. Didn't it use to be eight days? (Not that it mattered too much, we were either going for five or six days).

2) I thought, if there was only one child in the family, you could buy tickets for two adults, as well as 3 and 4 year old children. Now, it's only one adult ticket per child?

1) still 8 days
2) still 2 adults if you only have 1 child that is old enough to participateand any additional children in your family.

Am I losing my mind...did the opening page for Homeschool Days always read this way with Individual Enrollment?

Welcome to Disney Homeschool Days
&
Disney Youth Education Series - Individual Enrollment 2013

I have been looking at this computer too much...

I'm chalking it up to wishful thinking...I changed the dropdown box to Fall 2012, and it had the same header...oh well.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Honestly, we probably have enough families watching this thread to come up with our own group of 10 for January ; )

On a positive note...I was able to book a ressie for BOG for our first night (1/25) there a couple of hours ago. It had been booked solid since I started looking. I'm excited to see the BOG restaurant and also Enchanted Tales with Belle!

I sent a Facebook message to the Disney Education page about release dates for 2013 individual enrollment. Theywnrte back to say that date should be released by mid-November. Not the news I wanted to hear.

Mid-November... that makes no sense at all. Don't they know we have plans to make.;) I've been waiting and checking here and their web page like every one else but now I need to vent.:crazy2: I had to finalize my dates and book flights so maybe no class for my DS this time.

Thank you for this! I saw this after I posted and immediately called. Dave picked up and said the classes should be listed in about 10 more days. He said they will have classes during the following January dates 1/7/-1/13. If my niece and nephew get there as planned on Friday, they can get it out of the way and my sis won't stress over the price of the tickets! Yay! Going to call her about this now.

This a a quote from the 2013 YES program thread that is also active right now. I had posted the actual number for the YES program on that thread and a person called and got the following info. For anyone who doesn't know the direct number is 407- 472-4676 ext 14. Dave usually answers and he is the only person I would trust with any info regarding this program.

I seem to remember info being given out this past winter that summer registration would not be open until May and then it opened same as the year before in mid February. Usually, as soon as one series of classes finishes up, registration opens for the next series. I would be on the next two weeks.

I'm really hoping for classes the last week in January (we'll be there 1/27 through 2/1). I have tickets for my son and me. But I wanted to get my older girls into one of the classes. DD8 says she wants to be a NICU nurse when she grows up and rescue sea turtles on the weekend. So she's hoping for the Ocean Discoveries class.

Homeschool week is posted for 2013 for those dates. I have no idea how that works, but I do know those classes are posted.

Excellent! Hopefully, they are right because my dates are Jan 13-17 and that would be perfect for us:goodvibes

Hi everyone!

We are at Disney having a blast...

Tomorrow am our two oldest are doing the ocean discoveries class at epcot.

I signed my husband up to take them. However, now that we're here it would be easier for me to go instead.

Can I go in place of my husband?

Would that be a problem?

Please lmk. Thnx!!

Just a quick review

We were in the Wild by Nature class yesterday. My boys are 10 & 12 and weren't at all interested in the material but the other kids in the class seemed to be more engaged. I thought the leader was good and has somewhat of a tough job trying to keep the masses interested. I think the class is fat better suited for a younger crowd and I am surprised that the upper age limit is 14. Also, there weren't many opportunities to sit during the class which led to my kids (and my) lack of interest. 2 hours for this class would be a much better time limit. 3 hours was rough!

I think that the program in general is a great offering and I think that it is worth it to participate. Not so sure my kids would agree.

Thanks for the review, HayGan.
Just a thought, was it as hot as others have reported at the class? I'm wondering if the heat made the class less than ideal?

My daughter was in that class too! She was the only one there with her dad, so I'm sure you know which one she was. DH also thought it was too long, but he wasn't feeling the best either, thought 2 hours would have been plenty. If we every do it again, we'll try for the aquarium program at Epcot. DD seemed to have enjoyed herself and learned some things, so that combined with the ticket discount made it worthwhile.

I thought the age level was a bit off in that one too. I wonder if they've stretched them to make them more accessible for families.
