Disney Y.E.S. Program

What date in Oct.? I just signed DD9 up for Oct. 16 and I'd like info on the class as well. DH plans to take her, they are both animal lovers. I'm just wondering if it really does run for a full 3 hours? My plan is to meet up with them at some point to grab their tickets so I can get some fastpasses for us to use when the class is over. We need to leave the park by 2 that day so we won't have a lot of extra time.

we are also signed up for the 16th.

Count me in as another class attendee for Oct 16th. (I'll be the one in the tiara for my b-day!)

I thought that I recall reading earlier that the class does tend to run the full time (but I may be wrong.) I would count on it running the full time. Your plan to get fastpasses may be difficult given the new enformcement of FP times.

We got the tickets from the kids after they went through the turn style last year. They just handed them back over. This year, we will just watch to make sure return times work for the end of the class. Theirs starts at 7:15, and MK doesn't open until 9, so I'm thinking we will be fine to get FPs after we ride a few rides.

Does anyone know if they do classes the end of Nov? We will be there Nov 27th-Dec. 4th...We missed the classes last August, sold out. I was hoping to find classes this year.

Thank You:)

No individual enrollment Nov-mid Jan or March-mid June.

We attended the Everyday Chemistry class last week at Epcot.

Thanks so much for the review. We are doing this class on 7/19 and hadn't heard much about it. Good to know that they have replaced Test Track with Mission Space. I was wondering what/if they would replace it with. Thanks again!:thumbsup2

My birthday is the 16th too! My gift is DH taking our daughter to the class and letting me sleep in a bit, then I'll catch up with them at AK. I figure if I get there around 10 or so and find them to get their tickets, that should be just about right for FP times when they're done with the class.

We are doing Synergy of Science, does anyone know if you ride any of the rides?

When we did the Synergy in Science class we rode Figment, Spaceship Earth, and saw HISTA (which is now Captain EO, I think). I'm sure the rids might vary from time to time though.

My sons 11 and 6 just did Synergy in Science on the 12th. They rode SE, saw Captain EO, and rode Figment. You could have opted out if you needed/wanted to.

Have fun---I think the boys enjoyed themselves (especially the side trip to Club Cool and the unscheduled/unannounced visit from Goofy's son Max), and it was definitely worth it for the savings on the tickets!

Thumbs up!!!

Just wondering, when the students go on a ride, do the chaperones wait back at the classroom, or do we ride as well?

I did not know that they replaced test track with mission space. This is the only ride we have never done in Epcot. Has anyone who has done the everyday chemistry class had them us another ride, as mission space maybe a deal breaker? I know we can sit out the ride, where do you wait if you sit out a ride?

Test Track is closed, so they had to replace it with something. This is the first report I've seen about the class since TT went down for refurb. I guess Mission Space fits right in, as far as location is concerned. Since M:S lets out into a gift shop, I'm sure you could wait there if you weren't riding, though I don't know for certain.

Does anyone have or remember this year's full June schedule of classes? Our original plans for 2013 maybe falling apart so we now considering a June trip. Having YES tickets would be a big help!

If you do green it really doesn't make you sick or anything like that. The space is tight so if that bothers you, then you might want to sit it out.

I went on the green side last year and it was really tame. It was a very cramped space, so I can see someone who is claustrophobic not doing well on it. The ride lets out into a gift shop that also has a large activity area and lots of seating, so I'm sure it would be comfortable to wait for them.

My boys & husband attended Synergy in Science on June 13th & had a blast. They rode Spaceship Earth, Figment, and Captain EO (my 8yo sat out on EO because it scares him). Anyway, I just got an email from YES, a warning because my family didn't attend their class! Bizarre, considering they received name tags, rode everything with the instructor, and took pics of what they made at the end of class! I called & spoke with someone who sounded doubtful of my story & who assured me they always take attendance (my husband told me there was no attendance taken other than giving out name tags). It's not a big deal, but it irritates me - I'm one of those people who follows the rules & doesn't like being accused of not doing so. After an otherwise great experience with the program, that kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Won't stop us from doing it again though - the kids loved it.

Also, I wanted to clarify for anyone wondering about the tickets with water park/DQ option. We got the 8-day park hoppers with water park option, which only includes 5 days of water parks/Disney Quest, not 8 days of those too. No big deal for us, since we only used 3 of the extras anyway, but for someone planning a longer trip around it, it's worth knowing.

Wow! That would bother me too!

Happy to hear you otherwise enjoyed your trip, and thanks for the info on the water parks & more option. :)

I ordered the premium yes passes with the hopping and water parks/DQ option and mine specifically says:
Six days' admission to Walt Disney World® Resort Theme Parks, with the opportunity to visit multiple Parks on the same day as many times as you'd like. Six visits to your choice of Disney's Blizzard Beach Water park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park

Not sure why you would have 8 day passes with 5 visits to Wp/DQ? We have 6 days of parks & six visits to the others.

My confirmation email said the same thing as yours - that we'd have 8 days at the theme parks and 8 days at the water parks & DQ. However, that's not what they gave us when we checked in at group sales & got the tickets. They were 8-day hoppers with 5 days of water parks/DQ. The attendant didn't enter anything manually, from what I could tell. She just scanned my printed email confirmation & the tickets were generated from that.

I just emailed YES as a follow-up to my phone conversation with them. I included a pic my DH took of the whole group at the end of the class with their finished product. Hopefully they'll decide my kids were really there! :confused3

I got the 8 day premium pass and on the website when ordered it states that you get the equal # of DQ/WP days as the days purchased...i.e.8=8 (total, not individually at each park). Doesn't sound right to have less days than purchased, but I'm definitely going to check.

I'd be upset too if they thought I didn't attend the class when I did. Everyone makes mistakes, but hopefully they will see your picture and realize that something out of the ordinary did happen and make sure it doesn't happen again! :goodvibes

I would definitely follow up on the alleged no show. I have a friend who did the American Adventure at MK this past week. She had a conversation with one of the YES workers about people not showing up for the class. She was told that they flag the people and don't let them take the class in the future.

FWIW, they loved the class! Got to do BTMRR, HM, and Hall of Presidents before the park opened!

We aren't in the 10/16 class (my DS is in a class on 8/20) but my birthday is 10/16 too!! Must be a popular birthdate among us DISer's!:bday:

We (my 8 year old twins) and myself will be attending Wild By Nature on Oct. 16th, too! See you there!
