Disney Y.E.S. Program

We were just at WDW and DGD did the Animation class at HS. She and her mom had to be at the HS flagpole at the main entrance at 7:45 am and we were afraid to trust the buses. We called Disney Transportation from our room at POP and were connected directly to a cab service (I think Yellow Cab). I made a reservation with them, they showed up on time and my daughter and granddaughter made it to Hollywood Studios in about 7-8 minutes. It was worth the $10 (including tip) to not worry about the buses being late or whatever. Just food for thought!

How did they like the class? My 2 daughters are taking that one in August

We just got our kids signed up for a class on June 20! They're doing The American Story. They have done Synergy in Science and Wild by Nature on previous trips. Looking forward to this one!! :cool1:

I've spent this last 2 days reading every post that I could find in regards to the YES program. I can't believe this is the first time that I've heard of this program. I've listened to every podcast for the past 4 years and have read a couple of books about Disney.

Anyway, I am planning on going the week of July 8 with my DW, DD16, DS14 and DD10. There are 4 programs being conducted on July 11 however none of them cover all 3 of my childrens age range so my questions are:

1) If my DD16 and DS14 go to one of the programs for ages 11-17 can I still purchase 3 additional tickets for DW, DD10 and I?

2) My DD10 will actually be 11 in August, will they allow her to go on a program that is for 11-17 year olds? How do they confirm the childs age?

1) Yes, if there is no open class or your child is not in the right age range, you still can get tickets for them.

2)You would basically have to lie on the registration. They didn't ask for any ID from us last year. They are strict on kids being too young. They didn't mind my DS being a year too old for our class though(he was 16 and the class was 8-15) I called and asked.

1) Yes.

2) No...they are very strict about the ages. I don't know how they'd verify.

Thanks for the quick replies both Torinsmom and doconeill. I guess I will try and call tomorrow to see what they say about bringing my DD10 being that she is so close to her 11th birthday.
Thanks again.

Just signed my three kids up for Animation Magic on July 30. We will be in Orlando for 2 1/2 weeks starting with a convention at Marriott World Center and then moving onto Disney property. We bought the 8 day premium tickets. We plan to pick up the tickets right after we arrive and hopefully the kids and I can visit a waterpark one day while my husband attends convention activities. We will probably visit each main theme park twice and the boys will go to DisneyQuest at least once. A few questions: 1) Is it possible to pick up the tickets anywhere in DTD? 2) We will have a car. My husband will be dropping me and the kids off at Hollywood Studios for the class. Is there a way he can drop us off there without paying to park? We will be checking out of the convention hotel on the day of the class and moving to OKW. He is going to head to OKW to get us checked in and then come meet up with us at the park after the class. After we check in to OKW we will get a pass that will allow us to park without paying. Thanks for any information!

Does anyone know how early buses start running? We'll need to get from BLT to AK for an 8:30 class. Is that doable? Won't have a car.
It won't be a problem. Donald's breakfast opens at 8:00, and buses run early enough to get people there. I think many of the buses start running around 7:00. :thumbsup2

Do the YES tickets have your names on them? What do they look like? If they have different perks like park hopping, or WP&M, can I switch those tickets between the kids before they use the ticket? The kids could end up with the wrong names on their tickets; is that a problem, or does Disney only care that they each have and use the same ticket for the entire duration of our stay?

That's good to know.

We were thinking about driving (we have a car, but always use the busses), but then I was thinking that our classes are at MK so we would then have to get from the parking lot to the park. I'm doing a class with our two younger kids at 8:15 and DH is doing one with older DD at 9:00.

As far as I know they have no names on them and look like the regular tyvek tickets, but they say "youth" on them. (I've also read that you don't use the finger scanners with these tickets)

However, if you all register together I thought you had to all get the same ticket package. Are you registering one parent/child separately?

My kids are 5 yrs apart in age, if we sign my DS up for Disney YES we have to all buy the same tickets, can our toddler go too? :confused3 This sounds like a good way to sneak in some structured education into our vacation. :rolleyes1

Mo, your toddler cannot attend the class. Will she be 3 at the time of the trip? IF so you can still get the discounted Y.E.S park ticket for her.

Yes, thank you I did read about ticket packages. I really want to have DS do Wild by Nature. I love these programs, they sound so neat!

enter the 13 yr old under student
Enter the 2 -16 yr olds under student
Enter your GF under adult

Select the 13 yr old and your GF as attending the class that is open

Purchase tickets for everyone you entered.

(only the 13 yr old and GF will be able to attend a class, the 16 yr olds have free time with you)
Thanks!! All set. I registered as described above -- Four 8 day premium tix with hoppers and water parks for $880!!! Basically saving me about $750. :scared1:

Some notes: They don't even ask for the kids last names so I am not sure about the "immediate family" concern. Second, since I have not nailed down my actual dates, I put in a two week range and I will probably land somewhere in the middle. Hopefully this will not be a problem if I arrive and pick up the tix a few days after our "arrival date."

Does your entire group need to be present to pick up tickets at will-call? My kids like to ride the monorail but it makes DH nauseous (but he can handle EE :confused3) so I thought I'd take the kids on the monorail while he picks up tickets and meets us at the gates.

?

How do the yes tickets work for the fast pass? I am assuming we don't get a KTTW card and just use a paper ticket each day. Or am I misinformed?

They work like every other ticket, whether they are on Tyvek or plastic. You stick it in, you get a Fastpass out. :)

I registered 2 adults and 2 students. We got 2 8 day park hoppers with pluses and 2 8 day hoppers without. My DS17 and his BF will be going to DQ a few times, but my friend and I don't want to go. So, you CAN get different tickets for different people.

Check the pick up name on your confirmation email from YES Program Checkout. That is the person that can pick up the tickets. So make sure it is his name listed. If it is your name, then you need to pick up the tickets.
