Hello -

My 7 year old daughter has dreamed of going to Disney for as long as I can remember. My 8 year old son doesn't care to go. My older two have gone to Disney World twice when they were younger. This is my question - my sister has moved to LA and she has a place for us to stay if we go to Disneyland. I've only been to Disney World, and I really loved it. I feel as if I'm cheating my DD out of an experience by taking her to Disneyland compared to Disney World.

What do all of you seasoned veterans think? Thanks so much for your suggestions and advice.

Marie

I'm a seasoned WDW veteran (been going since the early 70s) and I adore Disneyland. The first time I visited DL I was extremely impressed. I actually think I prefer Disneyland to The Magic Kingdom. There is so much to do there. The detailing of the rides, entertainment and atmosphere is amazing. I would not pass up the chance to go if I had the opportunity.

Hi, we live in the West so we have been to Disneyland many many times and just the last five years have been going to Disney World. We are arriving there in two weeks for a 10 day trip with our kids and grandchildren. So we do love WDW, but let me say in my opinion Disneyland is very very special and there is just something a litlle bit more magical about it. Don't get me wrong as I said before I love WDW too, but Disneyland is where my heart is.

I much prefer WDW to DL. I like being at WDW, staying on property, going to all 4 parks.... That being said, I am sure your daughter would have a blast at DL, she won't know what she is missing.

Is this to be the only trip of her childhood? If not, then take her to DL now and take advantage of the free lodging and visiting family. DW is so much more than MK, so comparing MK to DL is kind of not fair if you're going to more than one park. It's hard to top all there is to do at DW, so my vote would be DW if this will be the only trip. If not, DL now and DW next time.

Thank you all SO much for your help.

I feel much better now. I know she will be in awe no matter what. I hope that she gets to go to WDW as well, but I know that won't be until she is older.

I am looking forward to DL since I have never been there, and it will be fun to discover it with her.

Thanks again!!
