I have been to WDW twice before but never to Universal. I am interseted in seeing the Wizarding World of HP in 2011, but still want to enjoy WDW, my favourite vacation spot. Is there transportation (magical express?) from the disney resorts to the universal parks? Your help would be fantastic.

Seriously? Disney instituted Magical Express to make it harder for you to leave their property, not go to the competition park. :rotfl:

You can use Mears or a taxi or rent a car for a day.

I just bought my tickets/travel through this site for our August trip. We'll see how it works. The things I do to be able to report back to this board!!!
I'm sure we all appreciate it, your most wonderful high guinea-pig-ness. ;) :teeth:

I'll be checking it out myself for a fall trip - unless you report back that it totally stunk, LOL.

For those on a budget and don't mind a 2 hr ride with transfers, the orlando area has public transportation (www.golynx.com) buses that have stops at TTC and across from Universal.

It's about $2 each way per person. (I think I'd rent a car for the day and drive the 14 miles)

Hi,

We are leaving for Disney on Saturday and staying on Disney property. We are going to Universal on Wednesday and Thursday and are going to try public transportation on Wednesday. If it's fine we will do it on Thursday too, if not Mears. Will let you know how it goes :)

Yep, that's me....the DIS guinea pig.
In any case, it has been recommended to me that I use the Mears shuttle over to US/IoA but use a cab back to my resort. Evidently, it is a quick ride in the morning, but can be over an hour, sometimes 90 mins, at night since the bus stops at so many resorts/hotels along the way. It may very well be worth the $40 to get home more quickly.

would the same apply to Sea World? DB has decided to tag along this year (johnny come lately!!!) and wants to go to SW. I told him I'd check it out but we won't have a car.

It is actually very easy to go to SeaWorld on Lynx.

Lynx #50 goes from TTC to DTD, then a few other stops, then stops right at the Sea World parking lot. No transfers at all.

$2.00 per person each way.

and how does one go about finding a schedule for Lynx #50 and where to get on because that's a great deal!!! Thanks for the info. DB will be very happy.

The Lynx bus to SW is very nice. It drops you right at the SW parking lot. Some say that it is kind of 'yucky' because it's Orlando's public transit. But, we found it to be clean and dependable, with mostly CMs going home on it.

How long is the cab ride from the Polynesian to Universal? Does anyone know if you can easily get a taxi van for 6 from the Dis resorts in the morning?
