I bet Disney firedthe guy who said using a reservation system one year out for on one day was a bad idea.. They prob also fired the guy who said it was a bad idea to only give people 3 days to think of what parks they want to go over a year out.

This company seems to be run by a 7 yr old.

No seven year olds are a lot mire into fairness and common sense than this plan.

I would love to see the "almost in orbit" screen. Just a change of scenery would be nice. I have low expectations. I'm seeing the outline of castles when I blink.

The giftcards are for declining mousekeeping

My guess on the gift cards are that they are for:
1. Refunded park hopper portion of tickets
2. Refund of prepaid event tickets
3. Your reservation got moved to a cheaper resort

When you get in, check MDE and see what changed

For any of those things, they would legally have to refund folks to their original method of payment unless they agreed to accept a gift card instead.

Has anyone had the castle for basically a whole hour now?

One tab with the castle and one tab with the "we're almost in orbit" countdown. I feel pretty confident both of them are leading me nowhere.

OMG this exactly. I usually go solo, but a friend and her husband and her sister and her BIL wanted to go to WDW with an "experienced" traveller. So for that reason, I am up at 4am (pacific time) to try and get park reservations, while they all sleep peacefully expecting a perfect Disney vacation, while I know, like everyone else, when Disney re-opens I won't have a clue what to expect. No one is experienced at this point!

Yep, some of my party don't have tickets so now since Im "experienced" its my job to figure out how/when to get tickets and get them reserved lol, I only do it cause I know they wouldnt be able to lol

How do they know for sure that people are actually going to keep these trips though? Don't they usually e-mail the gift cards for declining mousekeeping right after you check in?

Oh the joys of living in Az, get up at 3:30 am to book free dining promo, get up again at 3:30 to book dining reservations at 180 days out. Here I sit, woke up at ..you guessed it..3:30 AGAIN..sitting with zero dining reservations, no free dining, and hoping to actually get into the parks with this vacation I planned well over a year ago!
