So I found out my aunt gets discounts on parks tickets because of her job (through TicketsatWork). They only offer tickets with park hopper and/or water parks. No base ticket. So which of these do you guys think would be the best option?

We are staying for 8 nights.

#1: $378.08 per person for 6 parks days and no water park or park hopper (through Disney World website)

#2: $407.00 per person for 7 parks days with park hopper no waterpark (thru aunt's work)

#3: $397.00 per person for 6 days and water parks option, no park hopper (thru aunt's work)

Obviously #1 is cheapest but I was wondering which is best value for the price. Currently leaning towards #2, as we are travelling as a group that will want to visit different parks each day and it would be nice to have the option to regroup for meals or in general at different parks. I did ask the other members of my group but as most have not been before they are unsure so I was hoping for some input to sway them. Thank you!

When are you going?

If during the summer, I think the waterpark option is great. Not so at other times of the year.

Given your choices, I'd choose #2. Assuming the tickets can be upgraded and you wanted to add water parks, you could do that when you're there.

All Tangled Up: When I saw your post, I realized that DH had sent me info about a similar discount program through his job a few months ago, so I checked my emails. It's actually the same program you mentioned: TicketsatWork.

So I thought, wow, I'll buy my tix for the next trip from them, since the $407 price tag for the 7-day hoppers is the best I've seen. But, in fact, please be aware that's not the total price. That's the pre-tax, pre-fee price. $442.96 is the actual total price of the 7-day hoppers thru TicketsatWork. I know this because I put one of these tickets in my cart to see what the taxes and fees would amount to.

That being said, there's at least one better deal out there, through ParkSavers, where a 7-day hopper is currently selling for $419, including taxes and fees. That's the least-expensive price for 7-day hoppers I've seen since I started shopping for them a couple of weeks ago, when I missed the even cheaper ParkSavers deal, which was something like $394 for the 7-day hoppers, but they're no longer selling them.

The only caveat about ParkSavers is that the tickets, if unused, expire on December 31, 2018. It says so on their website. If you're planning to travel before then, this isn't a problem. I used ParkSavers for my last WDW trip, and they're great. You can read around on the DIS about people's experiences with them. My only hesitation this year in buying the tickets, is that ParkSavers used to accept PayPal but they no longer do, and I'd wanted to use my PayPal Credit to pay for the tickets.

To recap: The $407 7-day hoppers are actually $442.96 7-day hoppers, once you add in the taxes and fees.
You can get the same 7-day hoppers through ParkSavers for $419 instead.

BTW, the prices on the WDW website are also pre-tax prices. So the non-hopper price you're quoting is also higher than it seems to be.

And, just to weigh in on hopping--I think if you can afford hoppers, get them. You'll appreciate having the ability to park hop, which is incredibly easy to do.

ETA: Unless you think you're going to be going to the water parks a lot, I'd go for the hoppers. However, if you're thinking you'll be going to a water park every day of your stay, then the tix that include the water park are definitely worth considering.

2ETA: All the tickets you mention are available through Disney itself as well (of course). Their prices don't immediately show the tax, which is 6.5%. So even at $442.96, the 7-day hoppers through TicketsatWork are still a savings over the gate price, which is $467.54.

I would do a search on parksavers. The date listed on their website is the latest you can put when placing your order, but it's still a valid ticket after 12/31. there are multiple threads on the disboards that explain it better.

Below, copied directly from the ParkSavers website--although I bolded the most relevant information--which is where I got my information. Perhaps their website is incorrect?

Wow that's a bummer. I did add them to my cart to see the prices before initially making this post, but no tax or fees showed up. So I went as far as entering my PayPal information to get to the final step of checkout and only then did the taxes and fees pop up. :( My price through the Disney World website is actually correct since at the bottom it tells you the subtotal with taxes (unless there's some other fee I'm missing)

I think I'll go through ParkSavers. Thank you for letting me know about them!

Yes, the WDW site does show the grand total at the bottom of the page. I didn't realize you'd scrolled down. I too was bummed about TicketsatWork. Seemed like a great deal!

It says that because they must be "used" "validated" whatever word you would like to usee before 12/31/2016. you get a voucher to your email (I believe parksavers is an expedia or Travelocity site) and then you can either bring it to a ticket window in disney before 12/31/16 or call disney and they will convert it to a ticket that is in your account with no expiration. you just have to use it within 14 days of 1st use just like any disney ticket you purchase. like I said there's literally 2 or 3 discussions all about this. Thats been the verbiage for a while apparently.

lilpixiebabe101! You are so right. I just got my receipt from ParkSavers--and indeed, once purchased, the tickets do not expire. Thanks so much for your posts!

Here's what it says on my ParkSavers receipt:
  1. The valid dates listed on your voucher are only redemption suggestions and are NOT usage requirements. "Valid dates" on voucher do not apply after you have received your FastPass+ confirmation number. Tickets are non-expiring and may be used any time after this. Tickets only expire 14 days after the first day of actual usage.
