We'll be going to WDW 10/30-11/4 with our sons, (ages 8 and 5). I heard that the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party no longer does trick or treating. Is there anyone else who does trick or treating or what can we do on Halloween to make it special?
Thanks!

I haven't heard this, it's a key part of the party. I really can't imagine them not doing it! Hope your source was wrong!

You can trick-or-treat at the MNSSHP in the Magic Kingdom. The party is a hard ticket event (additional cost to regular park admission.) You and your kids can dress up and trick-or-treat at certain candy locations throughout the park and there is a special Halloween parade and fireworks and unique character meet and greets just for the party dates.

But keep in mind Halloween night always sells out. Purchase your ticket early.

We will be there on Halloween but I think we are going to work it so we arent at MNSSHP on a different night!! I would hope that it means less crowds at other parks!!! I have heard Halloween night is a busy night for the party and I would rather enjoy it and go on a different night, my kids will never know the difference.pirate:

Thanks! A friend of mine told me they did away with trick or treating in 2011. I hope she's wrong! We did the MNSSHP for our honeymoon and loved it. I think our boys will have a blast. Just trying to find out when the tix go on sale so I can purchase them as soon as I am able! We won't do Halloween night for that party, but wonder what else they do ON Halloween?

Your friend is misinformed! I went in 2012 and came out with a nice stash of candy :thumbsup2

We've been that week, and while it seems like the other parks would be less crowded, there isn't much difference, because so many people skip MK for other parks. But, overall it's not too crowded of a time, so it's totally manageable (holy run on sentences)!

We've always gone during a week day, and never on halloweeen. We love the party and hope you guys do too. Such a fun experience!

I went last year on oct 31st and came back to Australia with 3 Hallobags full of yummy American candy.. the CM's were very generous with how much they were handing out, one guy gave us 3 full handfuls and said they had so much left over that Disney told them to be generous with it all.

It was my first Halloween experience though as we don't celebrate it over here in Australia and am currently planning to go back next year, we've added a trip to WDW just for the Halloween party because it was SO much fun, I can't wait for 2015 to roll around! :)

Trick or Treating is still a big part of MNSSHP, but it was discontinued in DTD in 2011. Some of the resorts have trick or treating for the kids on Halloween.

We went last year and there is lots of candy!! The tix do sell out since its a party event, which means the crowds are *slightly* better than normal. There are lots of cool Halloween characters out, esp the villians, and dressing up is encouraged! Lots of great costumes - my husband's favorite group from one year was a bunch of guys dressed as Disney princesses.
One tip: think like a local. Sundays and weekdays aren't as sold out because we have to work. So don't get tixs for Friday or Saturday if you can help it.

There used to be Trick or Treating at DTD which they stopped in 2011, maybe that is what your friend was confused with?

At the resorts in the late afternoon (from approx 4pm), characters meet for Halloween. Last year we met Mickey and Goofy as Jesters, Tiana and Louis (Louis is rare), The Three Caballeros before we headed to the party. Each resort only has 2-3 characters and they usually don't announce who will be where. The resorts we visited had activities too, DJ's, colouring ect. We didn't partake in the activities except the characters as we were heading to the party. We hit three resorts and then headed to MK by 6:30pm for the party

We will also be there on Halloween. Looking for ideas on what to do on Halloween night. We are planning on attending MNSSHP on a different night. Any suggestions/ideas?? We will have a 7 month old, 3 year old, and 6 year old with us. Hitting the various resorts to see characters sound like fun, what park would be the best to go to that night?

Thanks!
