I just wanted to hop on here and wish my little princess a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I cannot believe that she is 4 already! Today she has ballet and soccer, followed by her birthday dinner and tomorrow we are heading to MK with my mom for a girls day! BBB is at 12:00 and she cannot wait! I will try REALLY hard to get an update on this afternoon while she is napping!

What an awful experience with the height checks! I would've been super upset over this, too. You'd really think the CMs would have some sort of training (or common sense??) on how to deal with little ones and the measuring process. I could totally see my youngest not standing up straight if they scared him like that. Some just don't do well with strangers. Stories like this are why we're so hesitant to try any new rides as they grow until they're far beyond the required height. The paper thing just seems ridiculous to me, but I've heard of that happening a lot.

i am so sorry you had the measurement incidents. I had one too with Will. We had just ridden BTMRR (his first time- 2 years ago) and he wanted to go again, so we immediately exit and go to get right back on. We walk in, all the way to the train/loading platform and a CM wants to measure him. I told him we just rode literally 10 minutes ago. He turns Will away, says, no, you aren't tall enough, literally as we are getting on. We all had to get off the ride, cross the train and exit. UGH. I was PISSED and LIVID! I mean we just rode. Why was he tall enough 5minutes ago? It really just depends on the CM you get I think and if the child is slouching at all or not. I mean, it's hard to get a 3-4yo to stand up straight for an accurate measurement. I would have been so mad. I am so sorry Olivia had to experience that too. I think they need some global measurement system- like measure them in one spot in each park, give them a stamp or wristband that says cleared for 40" or 42" or whatever. That way it is at least consistent.

SOOOO sorry! Yes I will still post! I was afraid I had lost all my readers! Things just went nuts around here after the holidays! We had family in town, Olivia was super sick for about 3.5 weeks and then we moved, so I am just getting around to getting back on the DIS! I am actually in the process of planning our big trip for the year to celebrate Olivia's 5th birthday! I am running out the door now to pick Olivia up from school, but I will try my hardest to get back on and post this afternoon!

Hi everyone (if there is actually anyone still out there reading my pathetic TR)! I am happy to say that I am ready to get back into this TR and give it the attention it deserves! Things have been so nuts here, I didn't even log into the DIS boards for about 3 months! Now that things are settled down I am ready. I really want to get this yearly TR finished so I can start on the next year. Yep, we renewed our passes and are passholders for another great year! I already have Olivia's 5th birthday trip dates picked out and booked, so now I will have you guys to help me with the planning of that one! Can't wait to get another update in! Happy Easter to everyone!

Hmm, where did I leave off so many eons ago? Oh yeah, it was with us hopping on a boat bound for Beach Club and Beaches and Cream for lunch!

After an uneventful boat ride over, we made our way to B&C, only to discover that it was 1.5 hour wait Umm, no thank you! We all decided to walk over to the Boardwalk and go to the ESPN Club since Toby loves it and Danelle had never been before.

We were given a table right away and ordered our drinks and started looking over the menu and just having a good time.

Our food came pretty quickly, and by the looks of things (since I don't have the receipt and apparently didn't take notes) we had:

Bacon cheeseburgers for Toby and Danelle:

As always the food was good and we enjoyed our meal. The total was $42.43 including tip. Before we headed off to our afternoon adventures it was time for potty stops. I still can't believe I did it, but here are pics from inside the bathroom:

After potty stops it was time to head out and hop on a boat bound for DHS and an afternoon of fun (hopefully)!

Up next: DHS, would our afternoon be better than our morning had, or would the same bad luck continue?

After we had stuffed our bellies it was time for some fun! We arrived at DHS at 2:55 and by the time we got through bag check and the turnstiles it was just after 3:00 and the afternoon parade had started. We snaked our way towards Star Tours and ended up stopping right around Indiana Jones to watch the parade. This was the first time we had actually seen the parade and we all enjoyed it! Here are just a few pics:

Once the parade passed we continued on our path towards Star Tours since Olivia was begging to ride. On the way I prepared her for the fact that she might not be quite tall enough, but to try and stand up nice and tall so her head touched the bar. Well, we got to the entrance and of course Livy was asked to be measured, and.....

She made it!!!!!!!!!! She was so excited to be able to ride! I on the other hand, was NOT! Ever since I was pregnant with Olivia I get terrible motion sickness and I was not looking forward to the ride!

We had a pretty short wait and soon enough it was our turn. The verdict? Olivia loved every single second of it! The rest of us? We hated it! All of us grown ups felt super sick!

After that torture it was on to something we knew we would all enjoy. Toy Story Mania!

Toby and I actually got to ride together and shoot our own guns on this ride since Olivia rode with Danelle! I didn't record any scores, but I know they were better than any time that Livy was taking turns with us.

After we had our fun Olivia conked out in the stroller pretty much immediately. Danelle and I took the opportunity to take a quick ride on Tower of Terror since we both love this ride and Toby does NOT!

When we were finished we met back up with Toby and I was going to grab a Butterfiinger cupcake from Starring Rolls but it was already closed for the day!!! How dare they!

Since Olivia was sleeping, we decided to start heading home since Danelle had to work the next day. We took a bus back to Epcot and on our way to the car it started to rain. We pulled out of the Epcot parking lot at 5:20 and dropped Danelle off at her house at 7:00 and finally got to our house just before 7:30.

We had another good trip despite all of the hotel hassles and not so nice CMs!

After a whopping 11 days without a trip it was time for some more Disney! This trip was going to be another girls only trip for Olivia and I. We had one thing in mind: Olivia wanted to be a dancing fool! You have probably seen the home movie from the Wolf family of their 2009 Disney trip (if you haven't here it is). The Wolf's were headed back to Disney and they were looking for some DISers to do some dancing with them. Since Olivia was obsessed with watching the video I knew it was something that would be right up her alley, and when I told her about it she wanted to do it right away!

This trip was going to be a quickie, leaving home Friday evening and coming home on Saturday. After our horrible experience with the hotel last time, there was no way I was using Priceline again, so I used last minute travel and got us the Clarion Hotel Maingate for $35 for the night. Once I had the hotel secured, I took advantage of Olivia napping and got our bag packed and the car loaded up and made dinner for Toby. We waited for Toby to get home so we could say goodbye and we pulled out of the driveway at 6:35. After a quick stop at McDonalds we were officially on the road!

The drive was going great until we hit traffic on I-4 that held us up for a little while, but we still managed to make decent time and arrived at the hotel at 9:20. After a quick check-in, I pulled the car around, unloaded it and we made our way to room 321 by 9:35.

I wasn't sure what we would be getting for $35 and I have to say, we really, really liked it! The room was huge, nice and clean!

I debated heading to MK for a couple of hours since they were open until midnight, but decided against it and Olivia and I just took showers and watched a little tv before she fell asleep around 10:15 and me at 11:00. During that time I was texting with the Wolf's and we made a plan to meet up at DHS 10:30 the next morning!

Yep, that was before you were down here! I believe you make you first appearance in the next trip we took (which will be after this day I have to write about). I know we need to come! Olivia has really been bugging me lately to come see you! I'd love to do an overnight, but since I booked Livy's birthday trip I'm trying to be a good mommy and put money towards that, so the reasonable/responsible part of me says to just do some day trips for a while to save on hotel money! Definitely planning at least a day trip in the next couple of weeks!

After a nice nights sleep, I was up at 7:45 and Olivia followed shortly after, around 8:00. Olivia immediately remembered that today was her "dancing day" and was beyond excited and wanted to get going right away! We were cleaned up, packed up and ready to head out a little before 9:00.

Beignets sounded quite yummy for breakfast so we headed to POFQ, parked and went inside for some breakfast. Once our bellies were full, we hopped on a DHS bound bus and were pulling in at 9:55.

After bag check we made our way to the turnstiles. I swiped my ticket and the CM working the gate said "I'm sorry, your tickets are blacked out". Wait. What? While I was on the phone with a CM a week or so before I made sure to check on the blackout dates and I was told they were blacked out from June 18- August 19, and today was only the 11th! After a trip to Guest Relations it turns out that the 11th was the first day of the summer blackout and the information I had been given over the phone was wrong! Of course by this point Olivia was in tears that our tickets were "broken" and she wasn't going to be able to dance today! I got her calmed down fairly quickly after I had texted the Wolf's and we had agreed to meet outside the DHS gates and do our bad dancing there.

Right on time at 10:30 we met the Wolf family and Olivia was in heaven and had forgotten that our tickets didn't work. I have to say, the family was super nice and Olivia and I had a blast with them! We spent almost 30 minutes doing our bad dancing and then just talking with them. By 11:00 we were done and it was time to part ways. How did the video turn out you ask? Well, here it is.

Once the Wolf family had made their way inside DHS it was time to figure out what Olivia and I were going to do. Since we were so close, we decided to hop on a boat to the Beach Club and have some lunch at Beaches & Cream. When we arrived, there was only a 20 minute wait and we passed the time playing games on the iPod. Soon enough we were inside and eating.

I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered 2 kids meals and an order of onion rings for the 2 of us to share.

The kids meals were pretty good and the onion rings were yummy as well. Once our meals were finished, it was time for dessert:

Neither one of us could finish our cute little ice cream sundaes we were so full. Out total came to $24.68 and we were rolling ourselves out by 12:30.

We decided our day wasn't over yet, so we hopped a bus to DTD to spend some time there since we never manage to when there are parks calling our name!


We arrived at DTD at 1:00 and made our way to World of Disney-which was PACKED! I have never seen this store so busy before! Needless to say, we didn't spend much time in there!

By now, Olivia was getting tired so we decided to start heading out, but not before a couple more stops. We of course had to get our free chocolate from Ghiradelli and then Olivia begged to get her face painted. Well, since I was feeling guilty about our tickets being blacked out, I said yes!

After that, we hopped on a boat back to POFQ and left and made the uneventful trip back and we were home by 4:40.

Despite the whole thing of not being to go into a park, we had a really nice time! I think it was nice to take some extra to do things that we normally don't since we are so focused on park stuff!

Up next: Yet another girls trip! FINALLY meeting up with some DIS friends!

Total bummer on the blackout!!! Poor Olivia! But glad she still made the video- i saw it back when it was posted and loved seeing her in it. So cute. She must have been so excited.

Hi there! I am just getting back on the Dis myself after months of being gone. I am caught up on your TR and I am loving all of the different trips that you have been on. Olivia was definitely a good sport to not actually be able to go into the park. What a trooper!
