Disney World flight restrictions

A friend sent me this link > FAA Orlando flight restriction

The title refers to the AK. Anyone know if they were bothering the animals? I know I've seen fewer tour helicopters in recent years.

Apparently, and we only heard this from a bus driver, the AK property houses
alot of the utilitiy engines for all of WDW.....primarily water recycling and fuel.
I'm sure there is some large propane or liquid gas storage there. If you enter the AK via WDW transportation, you'll notice the elaborate security checkpoint
set up to the left just befor entering the drop-off location. Just my $.02. Can't
vouch for accuracy since we heard it from someone else.

Interesting. I hadn't thought of what else was around the AK. As for the source, I've found the bus drivers to be great sources of Disney info.

The FAA restricted flights of the MK after 9/11, at Disneys request. Some people thought Disney used 9/11 as a way to prohibit people from flying over the MK taking pictures. They might have just added AK to the list of places, but I dont know why MGM and EPCOT wouldnt be on that list. Maybe it does have to do with the utilities in that area.
