Disney World Bus Question

We are going to WDW for Halloween this year. We are driving down from Canada. We plan on using the disney bus transportation as much as possible while there (already will have put tons of mileage on the van). We are staying at the CBR. BUT, one morning we will be having breakfast at CHEF MICKEY's at 7:45 am, then will want to head to DHS afterwards for the day.
What times do the buses start running in the mornings? Is it realistic to expect to have a bus get us to CHEF Mickey's on time that early, or should we use our own Van for that day?
The unofficial Guide To WDW I have indicates that from CBR to MK (which is near Chef Mickey's is about a 1/2 hour by bus which means we'd have to be at the bus stop by 7 am.

Disney transportation starts one hour before park opening to that park. However, you don't go directly from CBR to CR. It's a bit convoluted trying to get from resort to resort in the am, because you have to go to the TTC or a park first. I would recommend taking a cab for that one trip. You can book in advance, and it's not that expensive compared to the stress and earlier wake time of trying to use Disney transportation for a resort very early breakfast.

A couple of years ago when we were staying at Pop we had a early breakfast at 1900 Park Fare over at GF. I asked when I checked in about transportation and it wasn't a problem. They had a bus drop us off in front of the hotel.

The parks this fall don't open till 9 am which means buses won't start running until 8am? That means we'd have to drive ourselves or, and I did like a PP advice, take a cab.
Roughly how much is cab fare? AND we are family of 6 so would they send a van?

Check with the front desk at your hotel as they can best recommend a way for you to make your breakfast. When we were there in September, MK was to open at 9:00am, we were scheduled breakfast at CRT for 8:10am and caught the bus from POP at about 6:55. They run quite early for guests trying to get to breakfast at the different restaurants. I do know as pp said that they will sometimes drop you off at the Contemporary for breakfast at Chef Mickey's. This may save you the $$ for cab fair!

I would just drive that day. Why mess with a van and having to get it early to make sure, etc and with 4 kids, when you have your own vehicle sitting in the lot. Plus in the grand scheme of things worrying about an extra 10 miles after driving 1,000 is kinda "silly" IMO

I would also recommend just driving your own vehicle. You can park at the Contemporary for the time you are dining there, then make your way over to DHS parking lot afterwards. Make sure you have your parking permit from your Hotel so that you are not charged for parking at DHS. To me this seems the easiest way to do it. Don't bother with a taxi cab because it's an extra expense you don't need plus if any of your kids are in car seats or boosters you won't have to worry about that w/your own vehicle.
hth!

We did Chef Mickey 2 years ago.. It was that same time. We got on a bus to Magic kingdom with nobody else on it... he said..oops.. I made a wrong turn and let us off at the hotel. It was nice. I dont know if you will be so luck to do so if it turns out to be a EMH for MK day though. Otherwise.. on to MK and then hit the monorail~ Oh, and just so you know~ Chef Mickeys is in NO hury to open their doors in rush.. so if your not there RIGHT on time.. dont worry.. you should be ok...
