I cannot find this topic on the boards, so I was wondering what people's opinions were about going to Disney World... Before or After cruise.

My family and I have always gone on the Disney cruise and then went to Disney World for the rest of the weekend. Last time, I noticed that my parents were a bit tired at Disney World.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

Lol! After hanging out on these boards for the past few years I can assure you this topic has been discussed plenty. From what I've read most people prefer wdw first but still many will fit in the parks whenever they can.

Thank you for posting this. I too have been looking for information on split stays and a cruise. Our options are 3 days WDW, 3 day cruise, 3 days WDW or 5 days WDW and 4 day cruise, fly home day we return from cruise. Any advice from those experienced cruise/WDW. TIA!

We like to do the cruise at the end (but schedule one last night at WDW before flying out just to do our last minute shopping at DTD). The cruise is a bit more relaxing, although I've had fun both ways.

Most will recommend the second option...longer cruise with wdw first. Have fun!

We did ours after our cruise...the thought of getting to go to WDW made getting off the ship a little easier (not much since we are DCL addicts, but a little).

We like to go after the cruise.
We spend the night before at WDW, cruise 7 day minimum and back to WDW for a week.
No kids.....it works for us. I need to walk after all that cruise food.

First time for us to do both was this past June, and we will definitely do the cruise after WDW next time. All the hectic running around the parks and rides and everything - I'll need a rest!

We seem to be in the minority, since regardless of cruise length, we try to do at least 3 or 4 days at the parks before & after (depending on our schedules) with our cruise in the middle. Kinda of like a "Cruise Sandwich". Since we have an 11 hour drive :car:, it work best for us.

I'd rather relax on the boat with the drink of the day before heading home than stand behind people during wishes filming the show with their iPad or riding haunted mansion taking flash photography. I find more relaxation on the ship vs. the parks and want to return home relaxed and not stressed.

At the end of the month, we're doing a quick two days at the park and then a four night cruise. I prefer to do the parks first so I can relax on the ship after running around so much!

we've done both and firmly believe that a cruise after the parks is the best way to go. At the parks we're running around, getting exhausted, feet hurt etc... then we get on the ship, unpack, get our cocktails and just decompress for the week. When we went to the parks after the cruise all of that relaxing was undone and we felt like we needed another cruise to undo the craziness of the parks.

Cruise first, parks next if our schedule works out that way. We have done WDW after cruise and I hated the running around and dipping my hand into my pocket to pay for everything after having the serenity and mostly paid for stuff on the cruise.

We always do WDW first and let the DCL cast members pamper us after. While we have slowed down a little when visiting the WDW resort and parks because we have been there so often, we still feel much more relaxed on the cruise.

I say park after. Getting off the ship is so awful - it's good to have something to still look forward to.

I have only done after the cruise. On the last combo trip I said no more to after and we will always do before. The Parks portion of the trip seems like a haze, as we were so tired after salt water, late nights, and loads of excitement. DCL is the more exciting part of the trip for our family. What is the saying to end the trip on a high? We always get that with DCL but not so much with WDW. The crowds and heat usually have us leaving on edge if we are trying to do a whirlwind park visit.

I think we are going to aim to go to the park before the cruise this time.

Typically, what time can you leave the resort to arrive at the port?
