According to an article in USA Today Disney World will be available in 3D for Google Earth as soon as Tuesday. There will be an "interactive map" that will include Epcot, AK, HS, and Disney resorts. We'll be able to see videos of rides, and make ressies by clicking on a hotel. It sounds very cool. Now I have another reason to look forward to Tuesday.:goodvibes

It isn't nearly in as much detail as what the USA Today article is talking about, but Twisney.com (posted originally by WO - gotta give credit where credit is due) has something similar. Click on the link for "map" and it will take you to each of the theme parks and then post messages sent by people from those locations.

Twisney is very cool and I enjoyed what they've done. I especially llike that it's not "officially" Disney and non commercial. Wish I'd known about Twisney back in March it would've been more fun.
We were on a 30-40 min. line at the Fish & Chips. Bored, cold and hungry DS & I made up a game playing around with Google Earth on the Blackberry locating ourselves on Google Earth map. We sent messages to Peter back home titled "Where in the WS are we?" He would guess and txt back.

People around us thought it looked like fun and they tried it. This is a crummy pic but you get the idea.

I just happened to post this over on rumors and news a minute ago...

I'm excited!

It's Tuesday so I went over there:( Thus far it's not up. I'll check back later. Too bad I really wanted to play this morning.

The castle and resorts are starting to be uploaded (unless they were there before). Kinda neat...

I have the Swan and Dolphin so far, along with one building in the Italy pavillion.
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but so far I'm *edit* impressed! The detail on the 2 resorts are very good, I hope to see more like that soon :)

I don't have Google Earth (memory hog), but I tried to go to disneyworld.com/3dparks like it mentioned in the article, and it redirects me to the main Disney site.

Suggestions?

there is a delay message on the site... seems like they are having problems.

COMING SOON!

Thanks for your interest in seeing Walt Disney World® Resort in 3D. Mickey and friends are working away to make it great, but it's currently still in development. Check back again real soon — we'll share more information just as soon as we can.

This is the message I just got now:

Just checked again. Same message. The lights are on but there's nobody home. Guess they're still having tech problems.

:rolleyes1In the meantime we can get 3D(beta) or 2D images from live maps. It's a Microsoft priority thing so use Internet Explorer (plah) but it is cool.

Have a look @ MK in 2D

Well, we don't have 3D yet but we can link to a webcam. Live from a balcony laptop at the BWV.http://www.ustream.tv/channel/dislive

Very entertaining to watch the boats go back and forth and here the music.
Thank's for the link! I just got a live tour of these people's 1 bedroom villa at boardwalk. They seem to be very nice. It was weird to see things live. They were answering questions too. Pretty cool.

They are lining up the camera so you can see Illuminations tonight, so check back and watch them live!

Just got home. When I left for work they were talking about Illuminations last night and how cool that was. They said they'd do it again tonight. Very cool!

Unfortunately, the camera was not working or the feed, not sure, last night and no one got to see Illuminations on DisLive. Oh well, maybe tonight.

Some of us could hear some audio, but that was about it.
