We have three cabins booked. Parents 50th anniversary and moms 70th birthday.

This will be the first Disney cruise for my family. I am interested in joining a
Fish Extender group. I'm still learning about everything involved with the cruise so if anyone has advice for me I would sure appreciate it.

With a heavy heart. .. we are dropping the cruise. Half of our travling party has had to cancel and DD is in tears, and refusing to go to Alaska without them. Arrgh.
But. .. it is for her birthday so... we have decided to do a smaller Bahamian cruise and go home to Disney World instead I hope you all have a wonderful Cruise

Hi there. I am extremely excited to be joining. We originally booked this cruise onboard with plans to push it out a year, but now we are keeping the sailing! WooHoo!!!

It will be me, DH, son 20, daughter turning 19 later in Aug, daughter 17, and twin daughters 10. We are in connecting cabins; 7005 and 7007. We are from Amherst, New York (Buffalo area...between Buffalo and Niagara Falls).

For DH and I, this will be our 28th Disney Cruise. That number varies for our kids (well the younger 2 at least due to being born after our first 4 years of cruising on Disney), but we're all Platinum cruisers. Obviously, we love Disney Cruises. It's our favorite vacation and especially great for a family with a 10 year spread in age of children....everyone is happy onboard Disney.

This is our first cruise to Alaska. We also haven't been on the Wonder since 2010....before the new ships came out. Amazingly, we've never participated in FE but I think we might this time...something else new!

We are going to fly into Anchorage before the cruise and do a self-guided land tour of Anchorage and Denali. We'll fly into Vancouver from Ancourage on Aug 5th. The plan is to spend Aug 6th enjoying Vancouver and then board the ship on the 7th. I figure the odds of us getting back to Alaska (or Vancouver) are relatively slim, so we're trying to do it all.

Hope everyone has their pre-cruise hotel booked..... that weekend is a major holiday in the city. Plan ahead for tourist attraction congestion and high hotel rates closer to the big day. Best to explore Vancouver POST-cruise.

• August 5, Saturday night is the fireworks competition with road closures

I recommend hotels East of Howe or North of Georgia to avoid the congestion.

Good to know!

My other Alaska cruise our sail-away day was Canada Day. I guess I have a knack for picking the holidays.

Last cruise, we stayed in Richmond the night before the cruise, which was enough out of the city that we didn't really encounter chaos associated with the holiday. I'll be looking into doing the same again. Thanks for the heads-up!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm starting to get excited. My wife and I are starting to talk about excursions, and have made reservations for the night before the cruise in Richmond. (We live close enough to drive up.)

How about you? How are you getting ready? Aug 7 will be here before we know it.

Ok thank you - I've tried to search for an FE group for this sailing on the boards but to no avail (I'm new at this so maybe I'm not searching properly?). So....just throwing it out there to see if anyone is still active on this thread and wants to try and pull together a last minute FE group! "If you can dream it, you can do it"

There is an FE group through Facebook started but that has been closed now due to limited time before sail date. We are new this year as well and made it into a group, however would be love to do exchanges with your family too! shot me an email; iheartu@aol.com and we can figure out the details
