Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

We just got our room also deck 6 aft.

I really liked being aft! You can take those aft stairs up to the buffet and our "secret" deck on deck 7. We should have some Dis meets out there.

:cool1: I'm so excited for this cruise (though when I checked the weather yesterday, it said "rain" for all our ports  - let's hope they have no idea what they're talking about)

So I see someone posted that solid verandah's flood when it rains... this is the first I am hearing about this. (how is that even possible? LOL) How worried about this should I be? We are in 6144 which has a solid verandah....

I don't think it's all solid verandas - a review of my stateroom (5150) said that it flooded when it rained, but I think that's mainly caused by the fact that the last couple of verandas at the back of the ship are not completely sheltered by the deck above, so rain will come down directly onto the verandah, and not drain fast enough. I believe all balconies have drainage, solid wall or not.

Sorry to tell you, but there's a running joke in the Pacific Northwest:

If you can't see the mountains, it's raining
If you can see the mountains, it's about to rain

We live in WA state, we LOVE the rain. LOL I am just wondering if my verandah is going to be flooded is all :rotfl:

We're right down the hall in 6152 and this is the first I'm hearing of it, too. Eek.

I've never been on a Disney Cruise and the only cruise I have been on, also to Alaska, was 20 years ago. Anyone know where a good place to meet up the first full day would be?

I'm going to be exploring the ship most of the first day and just watching movies and stupid stuff they rest of the time. I'm also hoping to find all the CMs and see if they will trade pins with me. I have about 250-300 pins that are duplicates that I'm bringing.

Mr. Happy, would you be willing to give first crack at your pins to your DisBoards family? CMs are obligated to trade for any of your pins so it wouldn't mater what you use with them. I'd love to see your collection before you trade any away.

As for where to meet... That's hard to say. I'm sure there will be a lot of activities during that first day at sea. I would think sometime before or after the lunch hours would work. I think after the dining hours, the buffet area (i forgot the name on the Wonder) on Deck 9 aft would be rather quiet and have tables to use. Any other ideas?

Since we are started to see room assignments I thought I would post this again ...
I still need room numbers for:

Mr. Happy
mompaq
Cinderelley
Katwillow
Patapat
THNLK

Thanks

Sorry, Thought I sent it... I'm in 2071. Down about as low as I can get. lol. It's the only thing I could get with my points though.

Yeah, I have two sets of pins that I bring. Those that are really common and that I'm not sure are real. Those I trade with CMs. Then the ones I know are real and are really nice and will only trade with reals, those I keep for trading with other people. So if your bringing pins off Ebay, I usually won't trade the good ones with you. :sad2:

So far I see that Dumbo and Dis is pin traders. Anyone else?

No worries about pin quality here. I'm very picky and don't do the eBay stuff. I went through my pins this weekend and pulled some hidden Mickey and cast lanyard pins to bring with me for you.

Favorite NW Joke.

What do you get after 2 days of rain? Monday:rotfl2:

My 3rd room is an OGT and it was also assigned to Deck 2, port side under the nightclub... Would have hoped it could have been higher up, closer to my other 2 rooms :( It is a connecting room too...

Jen,

I'm in the same boat(no pun intended). Deck 2 under the kitchen galley and near one of clubs. Bringing earplugs just in case. I'm going in with the attitude "It's what you make of it". :)

Yeah, I know most real traders don't go in for that ebay stuff. When I trade though at the parks, I let kids trade anything they have just for the enjoyment of it, so I get some that are questionable. Those are the ones I trade with CMs. The really obvious ones I just make into push pins, or give to the niece and nephew as gifts for helping me. :littleangel:

I actually do collect the scrappers though and keep them in my binders until I get the real ones. I would say that 20% of mine are probably fakes, but I like seeing what they should look like. ;)

Yeah, you're right... I guess we'll all be sleeping with the tv on!:happytv:

I am a little concerned with one of my kids sleeping on the upper bunk bed :scared: and would have preferred a family deluxe room but all well... maybe I can put his mattress on the floor.:scratchin

So much planning has gone into this trip I'm going to need a vacation when I come back from it!

I'm worried about planning withdrawal once this trip is over. :rotfl2: Seriously, what am I going to do with my days??? :confused3
