Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

:wave2::wave2::boat: SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU SAILING WITH US. I SEE WE HAVE ALOT OF MOTHER DAUGHTERS TRAVELING TOGETHER. HOW OLD IS YOUR DAUGHTER? PLEASE POST YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY CHARACTERS FOR EVERYONE. WE ARE ALL READY AND COUNTING DOWN FOR A WONDERFUL ADVENTURE.

Tell no one I mentioned this but her daughter (my sister) will be 30 (*gasp*) this September. My mom and sister booked first and my other siblings and I followed suit. We are in separate rooms as a result.

pirate:pirate:pirate: Are yall ready to swab them there decks & set sail:boat:? (Well. actually i am hoping the crew will swab the decks) YO...HO..HO...TO ALASKA WE'LL GO!!!!! Okay.....I guess i got a bit carried away. BUT I AM READY TO GO...I am almost completely packed... I must say you guys have "SAILATTUDE"..no really, this group has a really great-positive and very outgoing attitude. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE FUN......

Can anyone confirm that there is no tax on board? Just trying to plan how much I can spend on stuff.

Just looking it up, while there is no state sales tax, there is a local tax in the ports that we are going to.

Skagway 4%
Juneau 5%
Ketchikan 3.5%

So if you are going to buy stuff, the last port is the cheapest for tax.

Hi everyone

I just sent out the updated list. We have 18 rooms participating. Is everyone comfortable with the size or do we want to look at making 2 smaller groups?

Please let me know...

Thanks

If it gets to twenty or more, I personally would prefer two groups, but right now I'm okay with either.

I'll take it! Cheaper than PA's 6% sales tax

Welcome! The FE is open until August 1, so you are more than welcome. Hollywood Glitter is organizing the whole thing, so shoot her a PM and you'll be in :thumbsup2

Thanks for the warm welcome. made the FE deadline. My oldest daughter, Jen, will be rooming with me. Her three siblings booked a room a few days later. They have also been added to the FE. They will be doing their own gifts as will Jen and I. Looking forward to seeing Alaska and meeting everyone.:)

Caught you! Tell no one- you have told everyone!:rotfl2:

What do you all think are the chances that we'll be able to book Palo brunch once onboard? The DCL website lists each brunch as "sold out", but do they hold back any tables for onboard reservations? I guess there's also the chance of a cancellation... We have Palo dinner scheduled for Saturday, but would love to brunch as well.

Oh well, that's the downside of booking so close to departure. Waiting to find out our stateroom cat and # (after booking VGT) is driving me CRAZY!!

I have no experience with it, but I've heard they leave a certain number of reservations open for people to book onboard. I think there's someplace you can go once you get on to get the reservation. Good luck!

For the past two weeks I have being living and breathing the Alaska Cruise, 24/7. I am half way through making my FE gifts. I have spent lots of hours doing research and finally I finished all my travel arrangements today. :cool1:

me too! Seems like I am putting in wayyy too much time researching! lol..
I still have a few things left to overplan... :D

I booked my brunch a few days ago.. it was sold out for 2 and 4 people, but I was able to get a table for 6 of us... Sounds like they are holding some larger tables - perhaps these will be divided later? Good luck!

I would think your chance are good. We plan on booking a brunch when we get on board also.

In case you haven't read the whole thread, I'm one of the mothers traveling with my daughter who will be 28 at cruise time. However, no other siblings.

Looking forward to meeting you at the DisMeet!

Welcome to all the people who have joined the group over the last few days!

I'm glad there are going to be some people on board around my age :)

Glad to hear it - sounds like Wavebands will be our first stop! I heard that the high tea is being phased out due to lack of interest (I can't believe it). Anyone know if it's currently being offered on the Wonder, and if it will be on our sailing?

To help my son understand that it will be quite a few days until we sail away (he tends to assume it will happen "this weekend"), tonight we made a countdown chain. First loop gets removed tomorrow morning! :hyper: Assuming the cats don't tear it down first...
