Oh my, so glad you managed to get logged in! What an interesting couple days you've been through.

Are any of you following Verandah Man's (Andy's) (((live))) cruise thread from the Magic? Live from 5-13-06 Magic It's been pretty interesting.

Very interesting thanks for posting!!

This weekend the forecast is for sunny skies with highs in th eupper 80's low 90's. I will be floating around my pool this weekend thinking of our cruise.

I can not wait. I definitely lack patience....

Here in NJ, the high will only be 70 this weekend. My kids may be in the pool but not me!!!(too cold). We have a rule under 70 degrees no pool :teacher:

Vicki- I hope the yucky rain passes over you quicky!

Bill- Its funny, I have a rule too about our pool. Its got to be warmer than 70 degrees and the pool opens when all the kids are done with school. At least my pool can open before Memorial Weekend if its warm enough- ha ha.

Kerry-you are sooooo lucky! Enjoy the sunshine and floating in your pool!

side note: My MIL had a Mother's Day luncheon at DL (not sure where), but she said she felt like she was on our cruise and couldn't wait until Sept.

Does anyone plan on doing spa stuff? :cloud9:

They have so many different things that look interesting. I decided against the open air massages. Saw the cost :scared: :faint: and thought that was crazy. Could do the same thing here (okay not on an island but your face is down in a hole the entire time) at one of the nicer spas and get it for much less.

I definitely want to spend some time in there. :bounce:

Kerry,

That's so funny that we posted on the same thread about servers. I replied to you and the thread. I hope DISers won't think we'll be server hogs when it comes time for us to cruise. I've also hogged the top ten threads on the cruise reports forum. I asked those who cruised the Wonder, "Who were your servers and did you like them". LOL :lmao:

RE: the spa

:teleport: I can't relax enough to be in there, very sad. I've heard/read that the rainforest is pretty neat. I've heard good bad things about the capsule. Personally, the whole time I was getting my massage I was thinking about what I could've been doing on the ship. My dh enjoyed the quick massage they offered on deck. He said that short massage was well worth the discounted price they were offering.

ETA: I'm writing down the names of servers from the favorite server thread (the most recent one) then I went over to the cruise report forum and asked who were your servers and did you like them. We still haven't had dinner (its past 7pm!). So, after I eat and watch the Pacifier, I'll type in all the great servers accumulated thus far.

O.k., here's the list thus far-
Gabor from Hungary and Ivan from Croatia- recommended by MommyX4GrandmaX4

Egi and Ah Lee -recomm. by Rena75

Jeanette and Carlos recomm. by we6clarks

Danesh- recomm. by Yfamily

Pandy and Ramsay- we4blairs

Eric from Thailand and Galina from Bulgaria -2005 recomm by poconoboatniks

I'll keep adding names of servers to this list as I find them.

I liked that movie!!!!!!!

Kerry-We arent planning on doing any Spa stuff.

Michael and I plan on getting a massage onboard.

--In good news, I got 1/3 of my accounts back tonight!
Finally found a contact number for the e-mail, so I might get it back soon...
and I spent an hour on hold with AOL customer support to talk to the wrong person, so who escalated it for me and promised they'd call me back..
So I'm on my way !!

Anyone have any good Disney dreams lately?

 I was kind of embarassed to write the movie title down. I guess as a parent esp. a mom, I understand and like his way of thinking ("My way, there is no hiway"- I love that line).

Piecey, so glad you are getting yourself put back together.

Hi all! I was going through my other cruise thread and noticed that people were signing up for their DCL cruise and the DIS one month before we cruised. So we may pickup new cruisers and posters yet!

I hope every one had a great weekend!

Does any one know when Katie Couric's last day on the air is? I'd like to see it.

((this is my 3,300th post!))))
I don't know when my very first post was I wish I put it in my post so I would know.

SUMMARY
NOAA’s 2006 Atlantic hurricane season outlook indicates an 80% chance of an above-normal hurricane season, a 15% chance of a near-normal season, and only a 5% chance of a below-normal season. This outlook is produced by scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center (CPC), National Hurricane Center (NHC), and Hurricane Research Division (HRD). See NOAA’s definitions of above-, near-, and below-normal seasons.

The outlook calls for a very active 2006 season, with 13-16 named storms, 8-10 hurricanes, and 4-6 major hurricanes. The likely range of the ACE index is 135%-205% of the median. This prediction indicates a continuation of above-normal activity that began in 1995. However, we do not currently expect a repeat of last year’s record season.

DISCUSSION

Expected Activity - 80% chance above normal, 15% chance near normal, 5% chance below normal.

The vast majority of named storms and hurricanes are expected to form during August-October over the tropical Atlantic Ocean, which is typical for above-normal seasons. These systems generally track westward toward the Caribbean Sea and/or United States as they strengthen. Historically, very active seasons have averaged 2-4 landfalling hurricanes in the continental United States and 2-3 hurricanes in the region around the Caribbean Sea. However, it is currently not possible to confidently predict at these extended ranges the number or intensity of landfalling hurricanes, and whether or not a given locality will be impacted by a hurricane this season.

4. Uncertainties in the Outlook

The main uncertainty in this outlook is not whether the season will be above normal, but how much above normal it will be. The 2006 season could become the fourth hyperactive season in a row. Another uncertainty is related to forecasting some of the specific circulation features known to produce exceptionally active seasons. High activity during the last three seasons resulted partly from an amplified upper-level ridge and lower wind shear over the western subtropical North Atlantic and eastern United States (Bell et al. 2004, 2005, 2006). In the event these conditions again develop, which cannot be predicted with confidence at this time, the 2006 seasonal ACE value could even exceed the high end of our predicted range. However, we do not currently expect a repeat of last year’s record season.

NOAA scientists will closely monitor the evolving climate conditions. NOAA’s updated Atlantic hurricane outlook will be issued in early August, which begins the peak months (August-October) of the hurricane season.

CAUTIONARY NOTES

1) It is currently not possible to confidently predict at these extended ranges the number or intensity of landfalling hurricanes, or whether a particular locality will be impacted by a hurricane this season. Therefore, residents and government agencies of coastal and near-coastal regions should always maintain hurricane preparedness efforts regardless of the overall seasonal outlook.

Bill, you will be a busy poster. I look forward to your posts as hurricane season is fast approaching. Wouldn't it be nice if we got a little or no active hurricane season this year ??? I can wish can't I? :wizard: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

ETA: Well DH and I celebrated our 12th year anniversary yesterday with the kids. It was so cute, they got so excited that we were going to have a "party" so they dressed up. After we ate I suggested, let's walk around Gerdt (furniture store) to walk off dinner. We walked out with a recipt for a couch, chair, and ottaman! I walked out shaking my head, that was a stupid idea! Long story short, we've needed a new couch any way since one of the legs broke off the day we put the couch in the house and my parents gave us $$ for christmas towards a couch. We just knew we had to find something BEFORE they came back to visit. I'll take a picture of the set after its delivered on Sat.. I'm looking forward to sitting on my new (new to me) couch! Ahhh.

Hi guys, did I miss anything recently (only read the last 3 pages to catch up)?

Whats the thought process on Palos? I was originally going to shoot for the same night as Pirate Party...... take kids to dinner for party but only eat an appet if anything, then drop kits at kids club, onto Palos, then pick up kids and go to party afterwards. I then changed my mind (for some reason I don't remember -- wish I did b/c it seems like a decent plan now) to try for Palos second night or last night. Any thoughts?

We will do Palo's on the second night and skip dinner in the restaurant. I believe the repeater nights in the restaurants are now the 2nd and 3rd night. I didn't want to miss any of the shows on nights 2-4 so that's why we will skip the restaurant.
