Welcome aboard!!!

I am booking this through Shore Trips. Once I get my tax return I will book it. Hopefully by March I will be all set!

Thank you! Is there a reason that you're choosing to book through Shore Trips rather than directly with the company? I see that the price difference isn't that much, but I can't see any extra perks for booking with Shore Trips.

Boy, I hope you guys don't get tired of my talking too fast. :flower:

I'm now up to page 20--doing them in 10 page increments so I can remember where I left off when I take a break. TaeJa, thanks for the tip, but I'm afraid I'll get lost if I don't at least skim everything!

Wow, hotels at the port are expensive! I wonder if it would be worth it for us to stay in Orlando instead? We're flying in on Saturday, probably getting there after 3pm, and renting a car for a day, so it wouldn't be a big deal to stay somewhere else. I don't want to get too close to the parks, because we'll get sucked in! It's our first family trip to WDW. :bounce:

My family usually buys at least one set of matching shirts for each vacation, because one of us can't live without them. :rolleyes1 So count us in with the t-shirts!

Oh, and my name is Dawn. :wave2: I usually don't post it, so it's not in my signature. TaeJa, I see that you're posting info on the cruisers--I'll be 34 at the time of the cruise, and my DH will be 41 (eek!). Oops, went back and looked, and maybe this info isn't what you were looking for? LOL I'm feeling very ditzy today.

Feel free to edit your post if you want. Don't worry. How fun your first trip to WDW! Are you in the Colorado region (from your location)? I'm guessing. It's great to have you posting with us and keeping our thread at the top (where it belongs).

I know we're not posting ages and staterooms any more, but as cruise time gets closer I'd like to create a list of names and cabin numbers if possible. (I'll volunteer to head that up) Why would we want to do this? It would be nice to know where every one is, and if we need to call one another we'd know what number to call. For those who are interested in being on the list, I'd have every one e-mail me and then I'd e-mail back the complete list to those who replied.

Sorry, I go on rabbit trails. Glad you joined us!

Yes, TaeJa, I'm in Colorado. :cold: It snowed yesterday, but typically now the sun is out and melting everything!

Perhaps I should have said that I hope you don't get tired too quickly of me talking too much. ;)

Woohoo, I'm up to page 40! Halfway to caught up with this thread!

I like the t-shirts that are coming up. I just wanted to say that pirates are a big thing for my family, so we'd be thrilled if a pirate made it into the final design. pirate: I bought the kids some PotC hats at the Disney Store last Halloween, and my DH is bugging me to make him a costume for the trip. So I guess we're going all out for Pirate night!

Also, we're interested in linking our dining, so I guess I'll be PMing Kerry. :teeth: If I can figure out how!

Dawn, I would check out the t-shirt thread of the DISigns forum. There are great designs over that that have been created for ALL to use. You can even ask for personalization form the creator. I know POTC shirt designs have been made. Check out this addicting forum and its related threads. http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=105

Ya, that is odd... :scratchin

Think it's because there are only 8 staterooms for Category 10 left? Or at least thats what it looks like on the DCL page.

Still seems odd. You'd think they'd just upgrade people and still sell both for rather expensive.. hmm..

Michael and I have a Category 10.. maybe we'll get an upgrade! :goodvibes

Hi Dawn (aka: Blackunicorn)

Thanks for the heads up on all the new smilies. There's a lot more now! Whoohoo! :woohoo:

Happy Saturday, everyone! I'm up to page 50 of this thread.

So, since I'm obsessed with pirates, is anyone going to dress up for pirate night? I see lots of posts about buying stuff for it, but am I going to be weird if my family is there in costume? I can't wait! I don't think the cruise line will be canceling pirate night this year, since PotC 2 will be out in July.

I'm currently researching ways to get to the port. When I saw the prices for hotel rooms at Cape Canaveral, I started thinking that it might just be nicer to use our paid-for DVC points to stay in a studio overnight, and save $100 for other things! (We have to use up all of our points every year anyway, because at some point my husband will most likely have a year without paid vacation time.) But I called DCL and they say that the bus costs $59 **a person**! Wow! If we stay at WDW the night before, I like the convenience of using the Magical Express, but then how do we get to the port? It seems silly to rent a car for a couple of hours.

We'll be flying in to Orlando, and I'm not a happy camper. I'm pretending to be fine so I don't upset the kids, but I'm terrified of flying. Is anyone else scared of flying? How do you deal with it?

Well, it's busy on this forum during the weekends, so I don't imagine we'll be on top of the page for long, but hey, maybe I'll come up with yet more things to say. :thumbsup2

And here's my vote for favorite smiley of the day: party:

I get such a kick out of scrolling through and seeing everyone's countdown timers saying the same thing. :lmao:

Page 50! Wow, your eyes must be

Here's my smilie attitude at the moment ---> :furious:. I barely survived taking the kids to the Target Photo studio. Hey, that should be a t-shirt phrase they could sell when you leave or a free door prize. Any way, We were lucky to get two good shots (of three kids) for V-day photos. My eldest was the only one who wanted to act like a drama princess. The other two were well  and .

Good Morning everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOOO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are having a Steeler party at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday was nice lets hope today is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 .

LOL Hmmmm...did somebody like the Steelers? I can't remember. Is there a football game on today? We're not sports people.

My favorite smiley for the day-- :hippie:

So again, I'm obsessing about the pirate costumes. Who's cruised before? I *know* TaeJa has. Does it get cold at night? If my husband wears long sleeves, *and* the jacket he wants me to make him, will he roast at the dinner and the pirate party?

Well those are all the questions I can think of today. Have fun today, everyone!

Oops, just found out that the Steelers are playing the Broncos. Uh-oh! :rolleyes1

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Every little penny counts ($10 = 2 drinks at Cove Cafe :) ) plus you couldn't book shore excursions until you were paid in full. I am holding on to my money until the last minute. I was told this fills up quick on DCL. Also, Shore trips had more times to choose from and the people in my party who didn't want to swim with the Dolphins could still go for $20.00 and enjoy Blue Lagoon Beach and observe us with the Dolphins from the deck. I love  my TA and he recommended them.
