No, I meant, why aren't you booking through Dolphin Encounter? They're at dolphinencounter.com.

The difference is only $5 for the encounter and $10 for the swim, but Dolphin Encounter is less expensive. I don't know whether you can do the beach, though.

I know if you book through Disney, they include lunch, but I've heard that you can order lunch from room service and take it with you.

Michael and I thought about doing this.. but we decided to try to book through Disney because we're going in the middle of hurricane season and in case something happens, we want to be sure we can get all of our money back-- if we can even afford it in the first place!

Either the threads are slow or my e-mail account is slower. I've been having to click on every thread to see if there's been any new posts today. UGH!

Hope every one had a great Monday!

:rotfl2: I came to the site thinking that I was going to start this thread early for the Sept 3 /06 Cruise .I find out that one was started 9 months ago. Is everyone just a little excited!!!

Welcome to the group! :yay: Are you cruising by yourself, w/ friends, or family? What rotation of seating do you have first/ second? We'd love to get to know you better. :cool1:

Okay this is rather random but seeing as how you guys seem to know lots about cruising.. you might be able to let me know.

The company sponsoring my school's study abroad program requires us to have international health insurance or to purchase it through them.
I'm covered (the company my dad works for is actually owned by the French Government, so...) but it got me thinking about things-- is this just their policy or does DCL require you to have some sort of insurance? Because Michael doesn't have any..
I've read about Medical forms and how they're not REQUIRED (which I think is true?) so I wouldn't think that international medical insurance is, either.. is it?

Oh, and Go Steelers!!

Ahoy Dawn! My name is Dawn, too. :hippie:

Piecey--you aren't required to have insurance, but it can be a huge comfort. If, for instance, you were sick and had to be hospitalized outside of the country, normal (US) medical insurance might not cover it and you'd be stuck with huge medical bills. Some countries require tourists to pay up front before they'll perfom medical procedures or let you out of the country, if you need something that can't be provided there.

Travel insurance should cover this eventuality. As far as I know, travel insurance should also cover if your excursions or your cruise gets cancelled, if we get diverted and have to stay in a hotel or get new plane tickets. There are lots of companies to do this through--I think that insuremytrip.com gives you several companies to look at.

(all of the information above comes from a complete cruise novice, so let the buyer beware :teeth: )

Today's smiley is -- :clown:

LOL Hmmmm...did somebody like the Steelers? I can't remember. Is there a football game on today? We're not sports people.

My favorite smiley for the day-- :hippie:

So again, I'm obsessing about the pirate costumes. Who's cruised before? I *know* TaeJa has. Does it get cold at night? If my husband wears long sleeves, *and* the jacket he wants me to make him, will he roast at the dinner and the pirate party?

Well those are all the questions I can think of today. Have fun today, everyone!

Oops, just found out that the Steelers are playing the Broncos. Uh-oh! :rolleyes1

Your DH should be fine (how did I miss seeing your post?). Any way, Indoors it may be cool, but a little warm for him if he's wearing long sleeves. Outside will be nice b/c you'll have the breeze from the ship (unless we're not moving). The great thing about the jacket is he'll have the option to take it off.

Barb (inkognito) do you have any comments?

We've made a key of smilies indicating who is participating in what. There isn't any pressure to join or not join an activity. The whole point of the cruise is to have fun and relax, but wouldn't it be great to have fun and relax together?! :grouphug:

~If there is any information that needs to be corrected, please PM me so I can update your list~ Thanks. Ages are for '05

Didn't look at Dolphin encounter. I will now. The biggest factor for me will be getting the three people who want to go with us to the observation deck at the lagoon. My DBF, Mom and daughter of my friend do not want to do this but want to watch. I will look into that today. I also heard the Disney lunch is horrible. We will order sandwiches from room service and take them with us.

When I find out about the encounter and bringing people with you I will post for all.

Thanks for the info :disrocks:

Hello all,

I too will be on the Sept 3-7 Wonder and I thought I'd introduce myself. This is my first Disney Cruise, long time Disney veteran.

I will be attending with my girlfriend. Also attending will be my mother, and my aunt & uncle. We have late seating, which I believe the agent told us was at 8:00pm (staggered, I reckon).

We live in New York, mom lives in Ohio, and the aunt and uncle live in Florida. Hmm...anything else worth sharing?

Nice to make everyone's acquaintance.

None of them allow you to stay behind on the island then return on a later ferry. You have to go to the swim and then leave. :sad2: Kind of bummed because it looks gorgeous. I am hoping they allot some time to tour. All of them allow you to have people observe you for the $20.00 fee. So thanks Blackunicorn! You just saved me $10 per person :drinking1 I will be booking with dolphinswim.com

How did I miss this?! I've been PMing people all day (mostly Vicki)! I don't know if I can welcome a OH fan. (Our family are IU fans). Just kidding, welcome to the group fellow DISer. Hope you don't mind, but I put your crusing party's info on the bottom of page 78. Let us know if you are interested in participating in dining with us, meeting with us, wearing matching t-shirts for our cruise group.....etc. (the invite goes out to every one who will be cruising with us).

We've been keeping the cabin numbers off any of the cruisers lists. Again, welcome and I hope you will post often. Feel free to post questions as well. We're pretty chatty around here.
