So, which one did you get? Or did you post that already?

:teeth:
HELLO CRUISERS OUT THERE, we're still waiting for your posts! We're friendly, really!

I got a Canon Powershot A520!!! I just took my first Panorama picture. I really like it. I played with it yesterday and took a picture of our oak tree using auto and the Foliage setting. The foliage setting is much better, it brought out the green in the tree. It is a nice camera. When I turn it on it tweets like a bird. Barks like a dog after I take the picture. I really liked our Canon Powershot A40 but this one has the different settings including night and beach!

Looking forward to the pictures you post. I am getting my new digital camera for Christmas. Just have to pick one out!

I really wish tomorrow was September 1, 2006. Then I would be driving to Florida to go on the Wonder. I so need a vacation right now!!!! I think I am going to have to plan a mini-trip somewhere. Not sure where yet :confused3

Here's my first Panorama Photo:

O.k., I gotta ask, is it easy to use? lightweight? How big is the memory card? It has a bunch of photo options-cool! Night and beach settings? Sounds like the camera is ready for the cruise! If there's a camera that talks to you, I'd be scared or really pissed off at it. But animal sounds I can deal with. :goodvibes

Kerry, Sept. 1 '06, we'd probably be on the road to get to FLA. I'm hoping my MIL will want to travel again with us to FLA and back. She was such a great help with the kids and extra fun company to have around. :cheer2: Grandmas are great! :cheer2:

Are there any other Sept. 3 '06 cruisers wanting to share what they'll be doing Sept. 1, 06???? Hint hint! ;)

Yes it is easy to use and very lightweight. The memory card that came with it is 16mb. But I found some deals on a 1 GB card at newegg.com. And on ebay. Yep the camera is ready!!!!

Vicki-Have fun with your new toy! :flower:

Vicki, it sounds like an awesome camera! I have been looking into getting a different digital camera for a while now. The Canon SD400 caught my eye. Have you heard anything about it? Currently, I am using an Olympus weather resistent digital but I am not really happy with night shots. I seem to get a lot of red eye, too. I also have an older Fuji that takes awesome pictures but it's a bigger camera and I really need something that can go in my purse. I think someone here on the DIS had posted some awesome underwater pictures a while back using a Canon digital camera with an underwater housing. Those pictures convinced me to go with a Canon this time. What kind of media does yours use? Every camera I have seems to use something different than what I already have.

I havent heard anything about the Canon SD400. I like Canon. They make good camera's. I get red eye too. The new camera's software in edit gets rid of the red eye automatically.
Our first camera Canon Powershot A40 uses Compact Flash, my new one uses Secure digital and or Multimedia, and DD Fujifine pix A310 uses XD cards.
I like this guy-I used him to look up ones I wanted. Here's what he says about the SD400.

Thanks for the info! I love taking pictures! I am always trying to get that perfect shot of my kids (when they're willing, of course! :rotfl: )

Vicki- what can your camera do for evening shots or for taking pictures in a dark theatre? Our (yours and mine) kids will have the Mickey U graduation in '06. The pics I took last year didn't come out very well. Some came out fine, others blech.

Also, just to let every one know, if you want to take pics of the shows, you cannot use flash photography.

Its pretty early for me. My brain is not awake.

Have a WONDERful day all! :teeth:

BTW, its :cold: this am brrr!

Your welcome!! I like to take them too!!! I got a really interesting book, someone on the Dsi board recommended it. It was excellent, gave me some tips and pointers.

How to do everything with Digital Photography By Dave Huss. :)

Yes it is!!! :cold:
Well last night I went outside and I used the night scene setting on my camera. With the flash you can see Amanda standing by our car but not without it. But what we can all do when taking the pictures of the graduation is go to your exposure setting- It will be 0 with + and - before and after. If you increase it to plus 1 or 2 your pictures should turn out ok! Just what you dont move the camera until it's done. What that setting will do is increase the exposure! :sunny: Have a wonderful day too!!
