An update on Rachel...she is awake!!!According to my sources...she is "significantly better" but she still has a ways to go to fully heal. I'm just glad to hear she is doing okay!
Thank you all for caring!!

Oh, you guys are too funny!! (Although I should have known better than to go to a Disney board and ask about anything other than DCL! hehe)
Tom's given me some money to plan a vacation for the two of us. Originally it was for a trip to Vegas but I mentioned a few weeks ago that I might prefer to wait on Vegas so now it's a "pick anything you want and lets go!" trip from him. He keeps mentioning how neat his dad thinks cruises are, which I think is a hint.
Kicker is, he wants to go in May, which means it would be slim pickings on affordable cruises and I'd be hard-pressed to arrange everything and for him to get a passport. Budget minded travel agent Patsy wants to say "Lets go to the beach for a weekend and save up for a cruise next summer.." BUT!
Crazy boy is thinking about reenlisting, after he gets his associates degree this summer, which would mean everything could change crazy fast (I'd probably end up going with him wherever he went *gulp* marriage) and we might not ever get the chance to do the cruise
sad1: he's the one who keeps telling me these things when he talks about reenlisting), so I don't want to tell him "No, it's not practical." because it really is his money.
I'm kinda confused. Life has definitely taken some interesting turns and the next few months definitely have the chance to be life-altering.![]()
We did a 4 day on Majesty of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) in 2001. It is one of their older and smaller ships and badly needed to go to dry dock (carpet rips held together with DUCT TAPEin PUBLIC PLACES!!).
Stage shows compared to the High School Show Choir performances my nieces and nephews have done. They were not Broadway caliber shows like DCL.
Smoking was rampant and no one asked the smokers to stay on their side of the ship.
We took a peek at the kids' program spaces to compare with Disney's. They were smaller and had walls lined with shelves of stuff and tables in the middle instead of interesting equipment to play on. Looked like a kindergarden room in an under the stairway space. BAD. And, it must not have been much fun as we saw kids wandering a LOT, riding elevators so they were not available for adults and cutting in line at the snack bars.
Kids monopolized the only two hot tubs. The two pools were right next to each other, and were filled with sea water so looked GREEN and COLD. No separate pools for adults, families and little kids like Disney.
I did not want any potato or pasta with my meal but had to have it on the plate anyway. Disney does not bring me food I do not want. I can ignore the potato, but what a WASTE!! It could have gone to someone who wanted it, but NO, it was thrown out.
The cabin was small. We had to ask that the two beds be put together and we felt the lump in the middle every night. On DCL we have never felt the place where the beds meet.
The room steward only smiled when it was tip day.
The bathroom was tiled with a drain and so one end of it became the shower.
There was a casino that was hard to avoid when getting from the theater to the rest of the ship as the decks near the theater would be packed with smokers. The casino also was packed with smokers. We don't gamble so would rather that space had been used for children's programming.
One RCCL cruise was enough. We are confirmed DCL cruisers.![]()

I would rather have a category 11 or 12 on Disney than try anything on a different cruiseline.
