Tropical Weather Update

As of 10 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2006:

We are currently monitoring Tropical Storm Ernesto very closely as it moves through the Western Caribbean and are prepared to make itinerary changes if needed.

However, at this time, there have been no changes in the August 31, 2006 sailing of the Disney Wonder. Guests on this voyage should check back here for regular updates throughout the week..

The safety of our guests and crew is always our top priority. If necessary, our Captains are always prepared to alter the ships' itineraries to navigate away from inclement weather for the safety and well being of our guests.

Can anyone tell me the height of the area under the bed where you're supposed to be able to store your luggage? Has anyone ever heard of the ship storing luggage/strollers?

what a hectic 24 hrs...

I decided to eat the extra cost and try to get there a day earlier. my wife and kids are leaving philly at 5:00pm and i am catching their train here in DC.
I just got a call from amtrak and they said the train will stop in Orlando but go no farther south, and will bus us the rest of the way to kissimmee..

did not get much sleep tying everything up a day earlier..I am not sure whan I will post again..so keep watching the weather and send some pixie dust our way..... :confused3 :teeth:

I like that kind of exercise!

Holly - you make me dizzy just thinking about all of those laps you're going to run! My kids will do good to get a mile or two in. :faint: I'll be the one sitting in a lounge chair on deck 4 checking my email as y'all go whizzing on by. :surfweb:

I was hoping to see some photos when I checked in this morning! :rolleyes1 So far I know to look for a big yellow corona hat for Bill, Heidi and Suzanne both appear to be tall pretty blondes (I imagine Holly is too?), Patsy is a cute thing with short hair (?), and then the rest of you will all look a like because I won't notice you, only your cute little girls dressed as princesses! ;) princess: A little help here??? pirate: :teeth:

Here you go-for both you and Julie:

I posted these Friday- TaeJa mentions my green tank top (it's part of a pajama set) so on Sat while out shopping at Old Navy I see a green tank top. I picked it up. I will be sporting a green tank on embarkation day!

Is it good to say, that's good? Your kid(s) must be thrilled about this trip!

Mmm, I guess it is good for some people, but I hate our summers. We have had better days in february than on this past months. We only had like 2 weeks of beautiful spring weather, nothing more.

This means no swimming, no parks, etc, though I must admit that it IS comfortable weather despite the rain, since it is not overwhelming. Average temp. is like 20°c (which is cold for me, but I love sunny and hot weather, though that humid hot weather in Florida is too much, even for me, lol) with the warmest being like 25°c.

My dd is really excited. She will be turning 4 on Nassau day. The only problem that she has is what she has told me many times: "don´t you understand? I don´t want to go to WDW on vacation, I want to LIVE in WDW", mmm, don´t we all? :rotfl:

I must be prepared because I guess she will go in serious WDW withdrawal mode after the trip, lol.

Only 4 days until we go to Orlando

Thanks Kerry :) it is just that I had never seen a thread move so fast. I want to try to get to know at least a few DISers before our trip, but I guess it is too bad to always leave important things for the last minute, lol.

Julie

We are a VERY friendly bunch. Please do not feeel like you can't join in the activities or meets with us just because you haven't posted all along. We would love to have you and your family join us! :grouphug:

Anyone else having second thoughts about parking at port with the hurricanes?

We are arriving in Orlando on friday, and we will rent a car for the whole trip, including the cruise, but I don´t want to get into any trouble with the rental agency because something happens to the car when it is parked at the port.

Julie

we are parking at the port. I would love an excuse to buy a new SUV.

Honey! The hurricane blew away my Expedition and it floated off to the Atlantic. Of course I am taking my insurance money and buying another large SUV :rotfl:

Holy Ca-ca guys! If the character breakfast is at 7:30AM our coffee meet to put the goodie bags together is at 9am right? I just posted asking how long the character breakfast lasted.....I hope she replies sooon.

O.k., I am now in official freak out mode!

Do not freak out!

There is no way in h*ll I am getting up at 6:45am on my vacation. I will not attend a breakfast that requires my presence at 7:30am. NOT HAPPENING!

With that in mind-we are all flexible. We'll figure it out. I will be at Cove Cafe no matter what at 9am so anyone who wants to bring their stuff to me can and just show up after the character breakfast.

I've read if you have normal size luggage that it will fit under the bed. Not sure if they'll store a stroller, but it would fit in the closet if its an unbrella one. HTH

This is us in a picture taken last may. It is not very clear, since it is a digital picture that I took from the print, but it is not that bad, either.

You know what, if Grandma wants to take the girls to the character breakfast, SHE can do it. I've got plans!

ETA: You know what, after posting this post, I feel much better. *sigh* :rolleyes1
